ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) on Saturday banned ARY News anchorperson Mubashir Lucman’s programme ‘Khara Such’.
The decision was taken in compliance of Lahore High Court (LHC) orders dated 17.10.2014 passed in Crl. Org. No.2070-W/2014, said a Pemra press release issued here.
Pemra directed M/s. ARY Communications (Pvt) Ltd (ARY News) to ensure with immediate effect that programme “Khara Sach” was not to be aired till final adjudication of the case.
“To ensure with immediate effect that Mubashir Lucman does not participate in any program on ARY News or on any other TV channel being aired in Pakistan either as a host or as an observer or as a participant,” press release said.
Furthermore, court orders have been circulated to all the satellite TV channels (News & Current Affairs) to comply with the orders of the high court in letter and spirit.
ARY Communications (Pvt) Ltd was also informed that in case of non-compliance, the authority shall be constrained to initiate appropriate action which may, inter alia, lead to revocation/cancellation of its license and/or imposition of fine or both under relevant provisions of Pemra laws.
In a country 0f 18 crore people a vast number of people will not like one channel or the other for one reason or the other does this mean that we should get rid of all the channels and leave just one govt channel like the olden days? Oh wait but nobody likes the government channel therefore ban the TV altogether like Taliban did in Afghanistan.
Why are we the people of Pakistan so close minded when will we mature as a nation and protect the right of free speech. If someone says something wrong about someone that person has the right to go to channel they like and present their point of view. Start a facebook page , get a twitter handle or start a new website.
He was one sided sob only talking about sharif bratheran, which is low, third class journalism. aisay corrupt journalist ko na sirf ban karana balke jail bhejna chahiay.
So a jiyala is pissed off at Lucman because he is exposing Nooras and as Nooras are the B team of PPP so Jiyalas are hurt badly and Muk muka can be exposed
Although i am not anti pti (or pro PPP or pmln, Allah na karay), but never liked the shady character that ML is. But that does not mean that we should ban everyone we don't like. Switch the channel if you don't like person A or person B.
I think its followed by LHC decision and while ML and his fans are claiming that this decision was taken without giving opportunity of being heard, I remember, he was warned for his cheap journalism many times by court and he had to depoist machalkay for zamanat as well.
Though overall I agree what Mirch and TLK has said, but considering cheap and biased journalism of ML, I would just say 'Khas Kam Jahan Pak'.
He was showing proofs if he was showing wrong think why dont your corrupt leaders drag him to court instead of banning him.

I never liked him but banning him is also not right. Uncle g ik phobia se bahir as jai her post mei ap imran khan ko mention karna nhi bhooltay baat khuch bhi ho. Bilo rani ki fikr kya kary bachi jawan ho rahi ha
He is a shady character, but don't ban him. Let him compete in market place of ideas. Isn't this what the democracy is all about?
