For the last 2 weeks I have been experiencing extremely dry skin. I’ve never EVER had this before. My T-zone is peeling like crazy and it’s red. Whenever I apply moisturizer, it starts to burn. I’ve exfoliated my skin twice, but it’s not helping.
I have outdoor bus and lunch duty at work and I wonder if it’s because of that… !
are you trying a new product on ur face? because it might be an allergic reaction to that… happens to me when i try some thing new whether its a moisturizer or sunblock or makeup…etc!
thats why i tend to stick with whatever i use…
use Eucerine moisturezing..(for dry skin & redness) i use it for my 4 yr old's dry skin and works also on me, its due to the weather changes its been goin around with alot of plp.
Personally, I wouldnt go for something very strong if you havent used anything like that on ur face before.....
try Eucerin calming lotion or Aveeno lotion, they are good with minimum reactions.
**Hinna I get the same problem each time I visit pakistan. I have tried so many things, different oils, moisturisers, aveeno cream, stuff from body shop but nothing worked.
What I have found useful is a cleanser called 'Ultra Bland' from 'Lush'. I leave it on over night and dont wash my face or wipe it with cotton. For going out i apply it and then wipe my skin to put make up on. That has worked for me.
Finally use the following and your skin will look and feel great.
one avacado
half a cup of yogurt
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tb sp honey
whizz all this in blender and leave it until dry. Initially use it evry day until your skin texture is recovered.
I have been using Vaseline as my moisturizer for the past three months. It has worked amazingly well. I tend to have dry skin, but it's regularly smooth and soft now. I thought it might react negatively, but no problems.
Hinna - i don't know if you've ever heard of Cetaphyl, in canada you can get them at shoppers drug mart, white bottle, purple label.
its a little thick, but its not scented so it won't irratate your skin. It has worked wonderfully for me. i use it at night, and in the morning, there are different kinds too, so some have suncreen mixed in.
The cold weather wreaked havoc with my skin. I normally have very oily skin but i ended up with the same problem as u. However i started using Elizabeth Arden eight hour cream (which i would normally just use on my lips as its so thick) and it seems to have cleared the problem up.
I was having the same issue last winter and if i applied any product on my face it would start to burn/itch and make that whole area red and exfoliating actually made my skin more dry. Petroleum Jelly worked indeed. It only took about two nights for it to get rid of the dryness.
