I am not talking about the ‘other party’. Just saying that both homosexuals and pedophiles demonstrate ‘abnormal’ sexual orientation. Please refer to post #17 as well. I am just asking if a pedophile, assuming he/she has not yet acted according to his/her orientation and hence question of consent not arising, is considered psychologically abnormal person, why a homophile is not?

Your question is good … The fact is that in the recent past homosexuality was considered a disease and people used to get treatment for it and some treatments worked.

All of this is being hidden these days … because of social norms changing things they can no longer call homophilia a disease like they can for pedophilia … the social norms have a hand in how laws are made and laws are making homosexual activity legal where before it was not.

The reason why it was made legal is based on the argument of “two consenting adults” - this is now the new definition of “married couple man and wife” … note there is no mention of gender in “two consenting adults” but there is a reference to age.

I don’t believe it will ever be accepted that peodophilia becomes classed as a lifestyle choice … for obvious reasons, but essentially my view is that homophilia is a disease just like peodophlia. Because an adult consents it does not rid the behaviour of it being unnatural. And it is unnatural thsoe who say it exists in nature try to defend the practice as though it is natural. However because a living being may do something that is possible it does not make it natural because of course if the only argument is that it is natural then eating your own babies, and peodophilia are natural as well. So you have a point!
