So I was going through presents that inlaws sent me for Baqr-Eid and I got this beautiful pearls necklace, a real one. I have never been into them but after seeing this one, I really love it. This one has a few strands so it gives a heavy look when you wear it. I got a one-stranded kind from hubby’s aunt before which I have worn with western clothes but this one is more formal.
Now I’m searching for a desi outfit to pair it with. What colors and style of clothes do you think will work?

I think pearls would look good with traditional outfits (with zari kaam) in rich colors and even on contemporary outfits in pastels. They would probably look good with anything, pearls would dress up even the simplest of outfits.

oooh Par! i would do something with very clean lines, glam, and in black- think audrey hepburn in breakfast at tiffany’s. in fact, you should check out her dress and version it into a contemporary kameez/pants outfit maybe?
black kameez with a similar neckline, sleeveless and work some bling into it somehow? sumo, elaborate, lady, i know you know what you mean!
and dude! i just remembered- there is a whole karma photoshoot with outfits that would be perfection with your pearls. found the pics!

it's one thing being inspired, it's something else to make a few outfits and call it an 'Audery' collection and pick the most obvious look.
i'm not saying they aren't nice or they won't go nicely with some pearls.

pearls are absolutely beautiful and classically simple but very effective-dark colours such as black/beige and white really show them off- i love pearls but tend to wear them sparingly with classic cut trouser/suits..:k:

I'm looking for some good jewellery now for the wedding, the main Bridal set and lil sets too... hope i'll find what im looking for InshAllah.

black net sari
beige chiffon sari with pearl kaam (like pearl lilies twisting around on the edge of the pallu)...could be nice with a plain trouser suit as well
plain silk sari/suit
I had a black chiffon suit with teeny pearls all over it like chaan....went well with a strand of pearls
as for the Audrey inspiration...how abt a black sleeveless long shirt with culottes?

when i think of pearls...i think elegance, glamor, sophistication so any outfit in lines of these attributes should do your necklace justice it deserves :).
