Peace and Sadness

Two contrasting images. This picture taken in Kumira, Chittagong in Bangladesh by Mohammad Younus. This boy looks so much at peace Masha’Allah.

This picture was taken in New Delhi by Anita Khemka. In her words: "This particular image was taken about three years ago. When this man was in his late twenties he travelled to Agra by train without a ticket. The cops caught him and he was beaten up and put in jail. He suffered a head injury and as a result could not talk coherently. He was declared mad and put in a mental hospital. When he came to his senses he tried talking his way out and was brought to this Delhi hospital. Nobody listened to him. That was about 30 years ago. Today he actually has lost his sanity. I saw him pressing his nose against the wall, and I took this picture. It was only later I realized that he spends most of his time doing this, with a lot of concentration."

Kambakht Ishq!

Sad,makes you wonder where God is,esp in instances where people are totally innocent and suffer anyways!

Ignorance is bliss. And yea, sadness wins anytime, hands down.

Many thanks, everyone. I'm glad some found the images thought-provoking. It really does make you think about "life".

AhmadJee,

Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?

Thanks, Naik! MUCH appreciated.

I just had a very disturbing thought...maybe the man was tortured by banging his head, face first, into the wall. Maybe that's why he does this.

Now this is going to keep me up tonight.
