I thought exactly the same in my younger years... it was a bit of a shock when I realised my parents weren't joking when they were suggesting I should move out of the house. They started telling their friends I'd be moving into my own place soon and when they bought a new house to move in to, they were buying new furniture for everything except my room. They said they'd move my old stuff in and once I was gone do it up as a guest bedroom!

He was doing you a favor. It's about providing us with opportunities for personal growth and self discovery. This is all part of growing up yo.
