By patronizing him back. The problem with such people though is that they don't see their own condenscending behavior. So if you respond to them in a patronizing way they will simply become the victim and accuse you of patronizing them. It's very ironic, but true story.
To give an example, there is this girl on gs who has a habit to be patronizing to others. And whenever someone gives her a taste of her own medicin she creates so much drama and puts the other down as a bad person. Instead of realizing that the other's reaction was caused by her own wrong behavior.

Spot on Muzna, this is no doubt the best manner to deal with the situation , in my opinion.

Normally I don't advocate being so direct but the type of person that patronizes someone is usually a bully and they don't expect to be called out on it right then and there.
Do what they don't expect and show them that you are above retaliating when the game is so far below standard.
Id ask myself why they are behaving like this. Then respond in kind.

There are times I will call them out and like LePAKI said, the whole victim act is played out so beautifully, they might as well carry chalk and yellow tape with them. I just am careful who I call out and who gets to slide by. Karma catches up eventually.
