That is poetry from Bulleh Shah, you moron. Even Ali Azmat doesn't own those lyrics. And Rabbi Shergill's song is amazing and one of the most soulful songs I have heard this year.

They are called morons because the poor guy Rabbi Shergill is being accused of stealing songs when he has merely used Bulleh Shah’s poetry, which is what Junoon had also done. Shergill has composed a different tune and has sung it beautifully. He does not deserve the label of a “thief”. Is it clear now?

and rabbi's version of the song is horrible in my opinion.

This is just like saying that there shouldnt have been different versions of 'Pride and Prejudice'. The first one who made a movie out of the book is the rightful owner and others shuld not have bothered.

and him starting a whole punjabi sufi music and getting to indian top charts has a lot to do with ali azmat's popularity IMHO

I don’t know who Aliji is, but I just listened to Rabbis song and it’s divine! Couldn’t udnerstand the lyrics but that background guitar and latin type music is va va voom. People, get a life and appreciate good music when you hear it. I did a little googling and found a Pakistani gentleman blogging about these 2 singers. Interesting..

I agree, the Rabbi Shergill song is indeed divine. I didnt know the guy was Indian, because a pakistani friend of mine sent me the song.

Believe it or not the copied version by the Sikh singer has become very popular in Pakistan. Unfortunately most people don't even now that Junoon sang the original. The problem with Pakistanis is that they love listening to Indian music and don't appreciate there own stuff. This has happened before.

No he doesn’t. That is a really idiotic statement. Listen to him carefully and come back to the thread. Song is different, use of instruments is different, music is different, only the “kalaam” is the same. His song deserves the praise it is getting.
