Re: Passport Office exprience- Rawalpindi
Nima, the next time you have to deal with any of these offices, please ask beforehand.
Let me cut it short, summary of my experience with them:
1 tout, 500 Rupees, VVIP experience :k: Love those guys ![]()
Re: Passport Office exprience- Rawalpindi
i visited the lahore one and it was drastic. in the first attmpt it was me with my 3months old son. it was very hot but had to join a queue where there were many old and feeble ppl. most of them were bickering over entering into the office. it was the worst experience wen i found that as usual there were many, who had some high officer at their back and they were straight away taken to the concerned token issuing authority.
the 2nd time was the deplorable one but i also proved myself
mu hubby'z khalaz were supposed to perform hujj this year and i was assigned the authority to take them to the office as they were plus 60 and belonged to a village. it was raining cats and dogs. my car was literally floating in the water pooled upoutside the office. anyhow, after wadding across the knee-deep water we joined the queue. after getting the token and other processes, wen it was the time for the so-called intervew which was the very last stage, the concerned aged man raised up a query of khala'z wrong written ages. this was an out of the world news for me as one would surly look for the id card as a valid document and the clerk rejected it and acted very insolentlt. there were many already bothered by him, actually he desired of bribe and that too a handsome one. i contacted the complaint cell and to my luck the director was at his visit and i went to him and narrated the whole incident. the clerk was then warned and he did his job within seconds. this is the picture of the main issuing authority..........
Re: Passport Office exprience- Rawalpindi
The one in Islamabad is much better. Most of the people I know in Rawalpindi actually put down their relatives addresses in Islamabad solely for the purpose of avoiding that passport office on (6th road)??

Passport office in Pindi has been shifted to Peshawar Road near Haji Camp, thats what my parents told me who visited that office recently. According to them it was HORRIBLE experience. They have really long queues over there and police force is at it's worse.

better suited to travel forum
Re: Passport Office exprience- Rawalpindi
In order to get the Job done, i always believe in Paying Something to Someone in Pakistan...
Re: Passport Office exprience- Rawalpindi
At Rawalpindi passport office if you apply without help from touts.....you need 3 hours to wait for turn at main gate with people pushing from all sides, then 2 hours to follow finger printing and data entry, then at last stage Director Passports will tell you to bring more documents and you case is put on hold.
If you pay Rs 800 to the tout outside, no need to stand in line. His man will accompany you, get you inside like a VVIP, get the token in 2 minutes, then u need 2 hours for finger printing and data entry and Director Passport says nothing. Approves it with BIG SMILE.
Same at collection time. If you do yourself it will take 3 hours. By paying Rs 200 to tout you get in 2 minutes.
Re: Passport Office exprience- Rawalpindi
had my passport renewed twice while in Pakistan
both times went with a guy from the office where I worked
He knew some clerk shlerk at the passport office

Re: Passport Office exprience- Rawalpindi
i went at 8m and after 3 hrs. i got my turn for finger printing. the guy who was doing the finger printing was so rude to everyone.
The worst was the guy taking the picture, flirting with every single woman.. he asked me where are u traveling to.. i asked why i have no plans yet. then he said u must have some plans, i said what does it matter, just take the picture....and he replied that if u are going to Europe then i'll take a European style picture and if u are going for Umrah then i'll take a saudi style picture...
I got angry and started talking loudly ppl gatherd and the guy said u are my sister..in the end he was v rude to me and said its your fault the u picture didnt come out nice :-)
Re: Passport Office exprience- Rawalpindi
Nima...and did you see how pathetic picture taking place is... It looks like couple of monkeys working on computers. At least, they should be decent and customer oriented like in banks and other places.
Re: Passport Office exprience- Rawalpindi
passport office has been shifte to dhok hassu in pindi , anyone been there?
Re: Passport Office exprience- Rawalpindi
Got mine from there a couple of months. No difference from what’s stated above. Took me around 5-6 hours to get through the whole process. Collection was easy though, hardly took 10 min.
Re: Passport Office exprience- Rawalpindi
passport office is now near bakery chowk. It is a much spacious office. I went at about 9am and was done with the whole process(for myself and my son) in 30 minutes
Re: Passport Office exprience- Rawalpindi
I went to the same.
Re: Passport Office exprience- Rawalpindi
Was that with “help” or without ?
Re: Passport Office exprience- Rawalpindi
That is the best way for Pakistan
Re: Passport Office exprience- Rawalpindi
I’m appalled to see how most people think it’s easy to bribe than to wait. Frankly speaking the culture of bribery exists just because people don’t take a stand against it.
