Passive Suicidal Thoughts

What comes to your mind when you read *Passive Suicidal Thoughts *?

Wishing to be dead, because of hopelessness. People often think there is no (other) solution to their problems. Or the other solutions require effort, often people can't deal with that or don't want to even.

Quite normal as in many people experience such feelings/thoughts, depends on frequency and intensity. Whispering of shaytan, because a sad believer is what he likes to see, when we forget that our sadness isn't bigger than Mercy of Allah (SWT), doesn't mean that those who claim never to have experienced suicidal thoughts are strong believers.

I dont really know about it much but if it is suicidal ideation then the only thing comes into my mind is “Jahanum”.. Because this life is a test from ALLAH SUBHANAHU WA TAALA.. When HE said suicide is haram then doing it is putting ourself into Jahanum..

On the other hand, it is a symbol of weak faith on ALLAH..

good one.. :lajawab:

Passive thoughts can turn into active any time.

I try to be careful by not mentioning Jahannum or weak faith with such issues. Some people can get so caught up in these negative feelings that they forget how to deal with them from an Islamic perspective. People know it’s not permissible, what they need help with is how to respond by seeking treatment. But in our society, someone who suffers from depression is not taken seriously and is instead blamed for it because he/she is suffering due to “weak faith”. God forbid if someone admits to be suffering from passive or active suicidal thoughts.

Shaytan’s mission since he disobeyed Allah by not bowing down to the first human, is to missguide as many descendants of Adam Aleyhi Salaam as possible. He just needs to whisper something and we get so lost in these evil thoughts that in reality come from him, even more so if we’re going thru a difficult time. Even Adam Aleyhi Salaam wasn’t immune to his wisperings. When you try to read quran, pray, do adhkar, listen to islamic lectures or just mind your business, shaytan constantly attacks you to divert your attention or to make you commit a sin and convince you that you’re evil and won’t be forgiven. We just need to learn how to recognize this and how to change the way we think. Shaytan knew that humans would be easy prey when he saw that the body of Adam Aleyhi Salaam was hollow inside, but that’s why you gotta control your mind.
As for wishing for death, that’s passive suicidal thoughts, man is in a hurry and impatient during hardships. We ask Allah why he is punishing us. We forget that the Prophets suffered so many hardships, but they knew it’s because Allah tests people to see who really believes and not to punish people. Take for example the story of Prophet Ayub Aleyhi Salaam. You have to change the way you look at these hardships and remember the purpose of this short life. It’s not easy, but definitely not impossible. The One who is in charge of the universe surely knows when to give life and when to take life.

There’s a difference between passive and active.

Level of faith of every individual keeps fluctuating constantly. It’s an ongoing journey which only ends once you’re dead.

Why would the all merciful god test his or her bhakts thusly. Don’t answer that it is a rhetorical question.

Suicide is bad.

(It’s like homosexuality. Homosexuality actually is worse since it indirectly and passively kills the chance of creation of other human beings/ and sperms or ova get wasted out of mere sexual gratification every time if acted upon without thinking why the act was created in the minds of people to begin with.

Unrelated to the topic but still related to my thoughts. Sorry to mix those thoughts. Ignore if you want to skip through these comments)

Now,

Anything** bad** but passive with no active attempt to perform is still better than acting upon it.

A lot of people think of doing something which may not be good for themselves or others.

But as long as they are not active or executing those bad thoughts, they are okay.
Not normal, but still okay.

Anyone who has problem understanding my above post, please read three times slowly again to get the idea. Thank you.

More to come on this interesting topic. Thanks LP.

You are being a moron again sorry.
There was nothing about all merciful God testing anyone in her post. But you are a “fake atheism lover” and yet “Hinduism lover”,** moreover, hateful to Islamic thoughts.**

You are trying to pick up a fight with @Medemoiselle because she used religious thoughts.

I just read your first sentence.

Every time you call me names, I will call you a right wing bigot again sorry. If the mods want to remove my label for you, they can remive your label for me. Learn to communicate without calling names. That is my advice to you. free of charge.

Listen to this song, and you may find peace. And any suicidal tendencies will vanish. Jai Sri Raam

Beyond that, I refuse to read your posts till you learn to communicate respectfully.

Cheers.

If death is zero, pleasure is plus, pain is negative if there is more pleasure than pain than life is worth living, if it is negative forever than zero is better than negative. I think people take life too seriously

I’m not really a big fan of using rhetorical questions, this is exactly why.

ok then, I will simply pose the question - why would an all merciful god test his or he bhakts thusly. If someone has mercy, that someone will not behave in this manner. Threatening to put bhakts in hell if bhakts do not do pooja or namaz n number of times.

Religions role is simply guidelines for someone to better. The moment the guidelines come with eternal punishment they stop being a guideline. That is why the concept of being born as a human (Reward) inHinduism vs being born as earthworm (punishment) based on last janmam’s actions is to me very punitive. The hurdle for moksha is so high it is not funny. And Islam has its own guidelines by this same all merciful god. Ditto Christianity.

That is why religion is hocus pocus.

In a read re suicide, people are discussing satan Tempting suicide, and the strength of ones commitment to god being barometer for lack of suicidal tendency. This attitude is dangerous, Because suicide is serious matter. To,solve every problem with religion will lead o problems being brushed aside or covered up.

Everywhere Southie tries to interject his pseudo atheist and fake anti religious ideas. He is just against Abrahamic God. More specifically Islam.

OK. Enough of Southie. Glad he is not going to respond. :D

About suicidal thoughts or attempt:

It's an emergency.

It should be dealt with very seriously.

If the person is expressing those ideas then the person should be **monitored **24/7.
The person should be treated with acceptable medical and psychological methods.

Underlying root causes be addressed if at all possible.

Depression (Primary or Secondary) needs to be treated.

The person needs to be advised gently against it by any means necessary.

Including religious thoughts and be explained that being thankful to merciful God,/having confidence on Merciful God is the way to adapt.

Thankful for being born, being able to do something while alive, being able to help others in every little possible way.

Slow suggestions and repeated reminders are best policies.
