so since all you nadeeday, chatoray, marbhukkay ae going on about nihari and paya and what nots, do u think there are enough recreational facilities, or the right atmosphere to even try and be fit.
It seems like pretty uch every area has some open ‘maidaan’ where ppl go to play sports etc or even run.
I did not see a whole lot of ppl running in the streets, in the early hours i bnoticed some guys out running, probably run, get home ashower and go to work or uni etc.
does not look like women have much opportunities for fitness there, some parts of society had access to gymkhana and sindh club etc, i saw ladies at national coaching center in the evenings as well. but there are no facilities in every area i think
Pakistan can be a big market for moderately priced home gym equipment
re: parks fitness and recreational places in Pakistan..enough or not?
Haaji Club in FB Area used to be called Asia’s biggest Fitness club back in the days… I am not sure how true it was … I never visited inside of it… always used to pass by walking, cycling and driving from the place
re: parks fitness and recreational places in Pakistan..enough or not?
haji club was pretty big, had some friends who worked out there and got absolutely huge and ripped or compared to the mases.. freaks of nature. This is in late 80's when fitness was not a big thing in pakistan escept for arncol and stallone fans like those guys.
There was also a huge club in shah faisal colony #1 or #2, went there a few times for matches. also the CAA club by the airport.
but most gyms seemed to be sausagefests u know..all men
There are loads x2 lalay … I mean you got Karachi Club, Gymkhana, Marina and Golf club. Karachi club mainly for its swimming pool. I have heard that they have recently renovated it … Marina club is okayish because they never maintain it.
For Gymkhana, I guess the crowd is supposed to be “Elite” but who cares since from its all “buddaY” discussing politics. But If ya are a golfer well then its your heaven ..
DHA Golf and Country club is bit waste of money.. wouldn’t reckon that
The memberships of these clubs were affordable like some 10 to 15 years ago and that is when MOST of the current members actually got those memberships..
Thesedays . forget about it …
And these expensive recreational clubs are just for the elite class … ya know
Gareeb ka bacha tu ajkaal Haji club be afford nahi kaRsaktah …

you know i always wondered abt that, how regular women manage to stay fit, richer women can go to the fancy all womens gyms (shapes etc) but in lahore i hardly saw any gyms for the rest of the women.......
Re: parks fitness and recreational places in Pakistan..enough or not?
I have seen enough parks in Lahore where women do the walking/jogging.They have trails etc. I would say there are enough of em.
One thing is in Karachi I didnt see a lot, maybe because of the fact the beach provides a place to go and do the fitness walking /jogging.What do you guys think?
