I agree with all here who say that it is us kids who need to take care of our parents...and typically from what I have observed... its expected that bahu will come and clean and cook.... i think taking care is something different than that.... and I was reading this the other day.... if children who are living abroad can't be there physically to help the parents they can at least make sure the parents are well provided for financially.... not all kids are equal and their circumstances might be different.... its my job to take care of my parents.... and its my husband's job to care for his parents.... as his wife i need to be supportive of him when he is kind to his parents.... and the same goes for him.... I do understand that girls move in with their husbands...but they can be supportive in many other forms...... may Allah give us the much needed patience to take care of our parents and not say uff to them...aameen.... the best dua that we all can read is the second half of Ayat 24 in Surah Bani Issrael...Allah himself has given us this duaa and tells us to say, O Allah have mercy on them as they showed care and mercy to me in my childhood....I didn't copy the exact translation so pls forgive me on that end.... typed it from memory....
