Paper Plates

Re: Paper Plates

yes…the children get the same plates unless their parents ask for plastic or paper in which case they are provided.

ammi always said that children should be treated as much like grown ups as possible so that they have a feeling of being respected. she said that people, in general, will respond in a manner that reflects the treatment they are doled out so if you show the children that you are “trusting” them with delicate things then they will strive to live up to that expectation.

our family was known to hold quite large gatherings and when they were held at our home it was understood that there would be china plates and stainless steel cutlery. the only thing that we used plastic was glasses for cold drinks and styro foam cups for tea.

since everyone appreciated the utensils there was never a shortage of folks wanting to help with the tidy up afterwards.
