What are possible causes for someone young to have them everytime they start exercising? ![]()
Re: Palpitations
being really out of shape. but definitely a reason to see your doc at the earliest.
Re: Palpitations
Maybe you're working out too hard. If you're not in the habit of exercising, you wanna start of slow and increase the intensity with time. Make sure you stretch and warm up first. If you plan to run, you might want to start off with a light walk....and then a brisk walk...and then jog for a bit...and then run for a few minute...and then bring down the speed. Alternate the intensity level.
Hydrate yourself before, during, and after the work after. And make sure that you're eating healthy and have the nutrients for working out. Now if you're working out in Ramzan while you've been fasting for several hours.......then that could be a possible explanation. An increase in heartbeat during a vigorous workout is normal I would think...but if you have doubts...consult a physician.
Re: Palpitations
I shouldn't have used the word exercise. The thing is I have a hard time staying still and have a habit of walking and moving around whenever I'm thinking. I might even jump. * I do this daily (and have done so for as long as I can remember) and I've never found it strenuous. But yesterday while I was doing this, I got this reallly weird feeling :/ Like my heart was beating very quickly and with a lot of force. I could feel every beat. I felt like it would burst out of my chest or something. :/ It was very frightening. I stopped immediately and sat down and it took a minute for everything to get back to normal.
The same thing happened again later that day while I was 'thinking' again. :/ (I'd thought the the first event was a one-time thing.) I've been trying to sit still since then. This thing has really been bothering me since yesterday. Maybe I'm looking too much into it...I dunno :/ My mother says not to move around so much.*

Re: Palpitations
Dear OP, Is your heartbeat regular or irregular? And is it now normal or still a bit fast? I would advise you to consult a physician. There is a chance that you might have heart rhythm disorders.

Sounds like an anxiety/panic attack to me. If you've noticed palpitations while you're "thinking", it could be a sign of stress/tension. Schedule a general checkup/physical with your doctor...*

It seems fine now alhmadullillah.

I dunno....maybe :/
I'm just gonna stop thinking about it for now. It's just making me feel more anxious.
Re: Palpitations
ughhh...it keeps happening. I just got up from my bed to go to the kitchen and it started again. :/ It seems to be triggered by sudden movements. It happened during namaz the other day too.
Re: Palpitations
it could also be vertigo...again, schedule a checkup with your doctor!!!
Re: Palpitations
Well, it's official-I'm definitely ill. Hopefully it's nothing serious and I get better soon. The palpitations seem to be a symptom of another illness.

see your doc/GP if it happens again. Get your bp checked too. But a one time episode doesn't matter. If it happens again then you should raise your concern to your GP.
Also do you normally sweat alot or have any intolerance to heat?*
Re: Palpitations
High level of cholesterol or sugar can give palpitations even during light exercise. Improper sleep can also be a reason.
It's usually happens when you are constantly thinking and stressing about something. You are always on the edge and have hypertension about something. I know it feels really scary as though your heart is going to jump out of your chest, Do you get shortness of breath too? I suggest continue to exercise but do some yoga and lot of breathing and and meditating exercises.
This is temporary though, in order to calm down you need to find what's bothering you or making you so edgy.
Re: Palpitations
Check your thyroid.
Stop caffeine/coffee etc. And diet pills.
Check your pulse when it happens. Fast? Regular or Irregular?
Don't drive till get diagnosed.
Get ECG/EKG/ Holter rhythm monitor for at least 24 hours.
Keep yourself hydrated.
Stop 'exercise' for now.
Re: Palpitations
Update-The week I made this thread, I got very sick. Had a fever on and off. Chest pain at night. Back pain. Fatigue. Palpitations several times a day. Headaches. Nausea and loss of appetite. Anxiety. Shivering uncontrollably. I didn't visit the doctor though because my parents felt that it was just a chest infection and that the doctor would just prescribe antibiotics. My mother also felt that my illness was 'psychological' and that I was just stressed about uni starting. So anyways, I just had a lot of rest and avoided taking anything with caffeine and alhamdullillah I'm a lot better now. I'm not quite sure what was up then :/ but I'm in pretty good shape right now. Haven't had any of the above symptoms. Still get palpitations occassionally though. Usually if I get up suddenly or from lying on my stomach but aside from that everything seems quite fine. So hopefully all's well that end's well.
Re: Palpitations
You should still go for a check up.
