Desecrating other people’s holy texts is not just forbidden by the Ahadith but by the Quran as well…Muslims do not desecrate…They may kill, if the worse comes to worst, but not desecrate…

The Washington Times is the number two paper in Washington DC. It has Jounalistic standards as good or better than any of the other major papers in the US, and is head and shoulders above some rag in Pakistan. The critic of the reporting of the LA Times and the Wash Times was very revealing, as the LA Times left out such vital information as who the gunmen were, and that they were among the most wanted. This later became a well known issue, as an exile arranged with Italy fell through....
The denial here is just more, "my sh!t don't stink", "no muslim would defile a bible". Get your heads out of your butts. Muslims (of course generalizing just to pi$$ off Muslim Queen)are among the most self-rightious people I have ever met. If you look at how other minority religions are treated in Muslim countries, that becomes very clear. Despite your protestations, minority religions are treated like second class citizens. Respect for other religions comes in all forms. Ahmadis Shia, Chrstians are all treated like crap, with huge bodies of law that descriminate against them. Is it so hard to believe that these same attitudes would lead to defiling a bible? I think not.

Lajo, Muslims don’t desecrate? Are you for real? How many suicide bombers in the past one years have blown up Shias inside their mosques in Pakistan alone? Is that not desecration of Mosque? If you like, I have some old newspapers showing how Qurans in Ahmadi mosques were burnt and Kalmas whitewashed. I think it is time for you to get out of your house and smell the coffee.

The Bible is trashed every day here on gupshup being referred to as a book full of lies. Which is worse? Flushing a single book down the commode or degregading the source and the scripture on a daily basis?
The Quran took the Christian Bible and turned it upside down by relegating their saviour to a 2-bit player while negating all his teachings with fire, brimstone and all kinds of God-sanctioned reasons to fight and kill. Should Christians be pissed off about that?

OG - The testimony of the Catholic Franciscan Monks is very clear. There was no problems or desecration of the church. The damage and the food shortage was due to the army surrounding the church. This is also supported by the PBS account.
I wouldn’t believe the reports of desecration of the Bible. It doesn’t seem credible.
Is this supposed to be better? They may kill but never desecrate. On the one hand - now I understand why people got upset when I said a book is a book, on the other hand - how is a life worth less than a book?

And as for negating, who is it that deals in usury, interest, gambling, eating pork, fornication, murder, greed e.t.c…Almost all Christians do that, but no Muslim does…So who’s negating your Christ here? Muslims or Christians?

Danny Pearl’s killers made him say to the camera that “I am Jew, my Mother is Jew, and my father is Jew” before chopping off his neck. That must have been such a comforting thing for Lajos of Pakistan how his fellow Muslims didn’t desecrate good Lord’s name, and how peacefully Danny was killed.

But I dont agree with most of what u in second. What I am questioning is the journalistic standard in watimes in this report. They claimed Bible was trashed, but cited “catholic priests”. No other newspaper in the world cited even ‘catholic preiests’ for this desecration. Are all papers in the world so leftist or so timid to not publish that vital news???

Jesus’ Biblical teachings are not to be found in the Quran. Instead it is Muhammed who is raised to God-like status. Whether you admit it or not, Muhammed is far and away held way above all others in Islam, all the way down to mimicking the way he brushed his teeth and relieved himself.
Bottom line is the Bible and Christianity came first. If anyone is negating, copying or mimicking anything, it would be the subsequent scriptures and religions.
So most Christians deal in murder, greed and fornication, but no Muslims does? Lies, Lies, Lies.

Seems like that if a few hundred christians had protested in Rio, Washington Times would have retracted the story, just like Newsweek did. But turns out, christians couldn't be bothered (except the Google Masters on GupShup), and so life merrily goes on.

Not all Christians indulge, neither do all Muslims abstain from all of these. You should see the lottery lines at the 7-11. How many have bank accounts? How many Muslims do I see at Atlantic City in the Casinos? Pork, not many do that - I agree. But, c’mon.
As far as not obeying, I am sure that you noticed in the link that you kindly provided and in the PBS link, that the Muslims were only welcome in Christian countries at the end of the seige. No Muslim countries spoke up for their people. I also want to point out that Christians gave the Muslims sanctuary in a church and underwent seige and destruction to uphold sanctuary for them. Christians walked unarmed with food through the battle lines under the guns of the Israeli army to feed the people caught in the church. And it was Christians who straightened the record out when they heard false reports. And this is just one instance.
I’m not going into all the Christian CARE organizations or shelters or amnesty projects or medical camps in nations usually hostile to them.
What gave you the impression that christians don’t walk the walk.
Please stop talking generalities, that can go both ways.

Since we have folks here who only believe that Pakistani press, here is a report of an attack on a Christian Church in Paksitan attacked on Easter Morning 2005. If someone would blast away at worshipers, they would defile a bible. Get it? If the claim is that Muslims some how would NEVER violate someone elses religion, I beg to differ.
Generally shooting guns and lobbing grenades and suicide bombings of other sects and religions tends to undercut your high ground.
Background:
The Dogars of the area had been demanding the Christians to handover the land to them that was allotted to the Christians by their forefathers before partition. The Christians of the area had built their houses on this 16 Kanal land and some part of it was used as their graveyard that also had a church built in the same area, where they used to say their prayers.
Incidence:
Today on 27 March 2005 at 10:30 a.m. the Dogars (caste in Muslims) namely Mukhtar Dogar s/o Din Mohammad, Zulfiqar Ali alias Pappu alias Malki s/o Din Mohammad, Imran alias Kali s/o Sardar Mohammad and Shah Behram alias Gogi s/o Sardar Mohammad opened fire on the congregation of Victory Church International affiliated with Raiwind Diocese of Pakistan. This church was once called New Apostolic Church.
The team was met with a big gathering of Christians who were standing in the premises of the hospital.
Statement of Niamat Masih (injured):
According to Niamat Masih s/o Channan Masih age about 26/27 years who was also shot on his left hand during the firing on the congregation, told that about 150-200 Christian families live in the area and rest of the population consists of Muslims in the area of village Khamba, Wapda Town, Phase II, Lahore. There had been some dispute between Christians and Muslims on the land that was allotted to the forefathers of Christians by the forefathers of Muslims before partition. Now in the recent years the government had has planned a housing scheme in their area that has raised the value of the land, therefore, the Dogars wanted the land that was allotted to the Christian community.
Today on 27 March 2005 at 10:30 a.m. after the Easter service when the people were coming out of the church when the Dogars namely Mukhtar Dogar s/o Din Mohammad, Zulfiqar Ali alias Pappu alias Malki s/o Din Mohammad, Imran alias Kali s/o Sardar Mohammad and Shah Behram alias Gogi s/o Sardar Mohammad opened fire on them. The culprits fired for half-an-hour and during this process one Irshad Masih s/o Said Masih died on the spot. Irshad was shot near his right eye and the bullet went through his head due to which he could not survive. Also Arshad Masih s/o Bashir Masih, Naeem Masih s/o Ismaeel Masih, Ismaeel Masih s/o Siraj Masih, Pervez Masih s/o Sadique Masih, Jameel Masih s/o Sadique Masih, Imram Masih got injured due heavy firing of the Dogars. They all were taken to the hospital while the police was called on emergency number 15. The police raided the spot and arrested the four culprits and recovered weapons from them i.e. Pump Action, 244 Bore Riffle and 30 Bore pistol.

and u missed an important point: Bible is believed to be God's message (according to islam). Its desecration is considered a sin.
