Re: Pakistan's uncanny ability to produce a new arrest ...
If majority of Pakistanis (Bengalis in this case) wanted to bring Pakistan back to the ideals of 1940 resolution, then it was their right. In fact, we would not be having this talk of rebellion in Balochistan right now or resentment in other provinces if this had been the case.
The people living in present day Pakistan agreed to join Pakistan based on prior agreements and understandings and a desire to safeguard their rights. They did not agree to give up their souls to the military junta or political-feudal establishment.
The end result is that we suffered a humiliating defeat and had to surrender and lose half of our country because we are not willing to acquiescence to the wishes of the majority.
The people of Bangladesh did vote for to join with Pakistan in 1946 that part of what you say is true. The bit about the military junta is just another lame excuse from perhaps a semi Bengalified self-perceived victim.
1) It was after the elections were held that the Bengalis started the war, not during martial law rule.
2) During martial law, East Pakistan/Bangladesh got given a much greater share of money than under any previous Bengali president.
3) Balochistan has been going on during civilian rule, during military rule, doesnt matter. It's a foreign inspired uprising, destabilization is the objective.
4) Military rule has produced some of the best leaders of Pakistan
I'll come back to the '65 thing later. But Bengalis were not sidelined politically, or economically by the Pakistani government. a basic understanding of the situation would show this. It was a combination of being docile and having a victim attitude that made them easy game for the power hungry traitors at the top.

The Legal Framework Order was completely legally implemented and necessary, and Yahya Khan had the authority as president to do this. You can read about it here.
The L. F. O. also defined the qualifications of people who would be allowed to contest in the elections.
The President was given the power to reject any Constitution framed by the Constituent Assembly if the document did not fulfill the above-mentioned requirements.

God forbid we use our brains to see the openly available information by former and current members of the ISI and army to try to see the truth behind what is happening in Pakistan.

This is not the right time or place to argue about 1971 debacle, but I completely disagree on you about LFO. Who gave Yahya Khan authority to become President in the first place? He had no right to make any law to begin with, even if the LFO was the right thing to do.
Feel free to open another topic of discussion on this.
Re: Pakistan's uncanny ability to produce a new arrest...& Fear America...(merged)
The legality of Yahya Khan's presidency is something else to discuss. The Constitution of Pakistan allows for it under the circumstances. It's a silly point your bringing up anyhow. According to the rules of Pakistani elections, there must be a Legal Framework Order. This was created by the leaders. If you want to say the Legal Framwork Order was illegal because the person that created it was illegal, you have to say that the election itself in which Awami League won was illegal since it follows that the an illegal LFO would mean an illegal election. Your point makes no sense basically.

O bhai, catch terrorists and start a civil war in Pakistan? We know what happens when we go into west of our border and try to govern. It is better when we are 'pushed' rather we 'want' to catch these number 2 and 3's.
America again wakes up to Afghanistan....why? What the heck were they doing for last 4 years?
Re: Pakistan's uncanny ability to produce a new arrest...& Fear America...(merged)
roadrunner, the Supreme Court of Pakistan seems to have not agreed with you. Have you read the Hamoud-ur-Rehman commission report?
Bits of it, yes. And Hamoud-ur-Rehman Report completely agrees with me right down to the casualty figure which is currently accepted as correct now. Dont get me wrong, I'm glad East Pakistan seperated, Pakistan would be worse off today if it had them tagged on, but what you assert, that the Awami League should have been allowed office, is not correct because they wanted to split up the country and make it weaker. Not to mention a nonsense economic and foreign policy. It was illegal anyway, but part of the fault is on Pakistan's leaders for allowing illegal people to compete.
