As soon as Dick Cheney felt compelled to issue a “stern” message to Pakistan that she need to do more to combat terrorism, how did Pakistan respond? Well, of course, they catch another “high ranking” Taliban official [for full story, click here]. What an absolute circus!
Its as if Pakistan has an unlimited supply of dubious people with either Arabic names or Afghan heritage, who can be produced at the drop of a hat. I have lost track of the number of times, Pakistan has captured the “third highest ranked” Al-Qaida dude. Who the frick cares about third ranked? I only know two dudes from Al-Qaida… the first is the “wanted dead-or-alive” famous Osama Bin Laden, and the second is the movie producer, Aymaan Al-Zawahiri, who should be given an Oscar just based on sheer quantity of crap he produces on a regular basis. I don’t know a third person of Al Qaida, and frankly don’t want to know either. And this Akhund dude is a Talibaan and is not even an exotic Al-Qaida card member. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t every second guy roaming in Quetta or Peshawar already a Talibaan?
Seems like both Pakistan and Amreeka are engaged in this whole war against terrorism with more lip service than any thing serious. You scratch my back and I will scratch yours. On the other hand the Mayor of Kabul, Karzai is busy propagating his useless genes; and in the spare time plays the classic game of “who can I blame for my miserable failure” while smoking premium quality hashish produced in Qandahar. What a bunch of morons… all of 'em.

With rumors of ordinary pakistani citrizen disappearing left and right without a trace (some say they are usually the oppostion to Mushy in the upcoming elections), Pakistani authorities i.e the ISI are never short in supply of supposed AlCIAda or Taliban members.

This guy is a Pashtun from Kandahar and was in fact the Taliban Defence Minister.
Our credibility is less than zero now. We keep denying that Taliban leaders are not in Quetta. Then comes Cheney and Musharraf produces a senior leader next day.
If I was an American, I can only think that Pakistan is actually hiding Taliban leaders and heavy pressure will cause us to wilt. Sheesh.

Oh Please. If they are kept under surveillance, then why did Gen Sahib and FO so vehemently deny that they are in Quetta? That is a prima facie lie. Cheney cracked the whip and Gen sahib pulled out a Taliban bunny out of the hat. This guy was like the top-3 most wanted Taliban man and their defence minister.
I hope he understands that you can't f%^S with Americans. We would have earned so much goodwill if we handed over this guy wiithout pressure. Now we won't even get credit and stand without our dignity.
Just wait and see the pressure build up more after a brief lull. Americans know now that General sahib's bravado is just that.

US channels are reporting that Cheney gave proof of this guy and few others living in Pakistan and gave Musharraf an ultimatum - you do it or we will. Apparently, Cheney pressed for another Taliban commander named Dadallah and also Al Qaeda's Zawahri.
Now, none of our denials will be credible even if true.

I dont see any sensible reason of why Pakistan would want to not arrest these guys if they know their whereabouts. This is ridiculous. And if ISI is up to its old games of oh we want to preserve these assholes because eventually when US leaves we need strong pakhtoon support including these morons to have a favourable govt next doors.
Unless there is something like they just found out about this guy like yesterday, or a few days ago, which is probably not the case, I am just beyond disappointed.
what a frikkin farce...General sahab needs to give a real explanation to the people and not some roundabout bull**** answer that insults our intelligence.

This has sadly been going on for a while now. Do a raid on a Taliban associate madrassah (or Hamid Gul's home) on any given day and you will catch some Taliban guys easily.
What I find most amusing is when Musharraf and the lier in chief in charge of ISPR cry that Afghans and Americans should give them addresses of these Taliban leaders and they will be arrested immediately. Here's a thought, how about getting of your asses and checking a few madrassahs yourselves to find these guys. If Geo TV can find them, don't tell me ISI is to incompetent to do anything.
ISI becomes very competent all of a sudden when they have to pick up some random Balochs or Sindhis who no one has ever even heard of outside of their communities, but cannot find international terrorists. It's nothing but a game for these jokers. I wonder what threat will work with the generals in order to move Zawahri from his safehouse to Gitmo?

Pak govt has the tact of a freight train... Suddenly their catching high level targets in Balochistan out of no where. Couldnt they have a waited a few months before they discovered this guy sneaking around Quetta?!
Anyways, I doubt catching this guy will make any difference.. Taliban are a virus now.
