That's all nice and noble...but let's see if the benevolent dictator mushie acts on it...He's had 8 years to root out the corruption, but in the recent years he has been the biggest patron of corrupt elements...Infact about the only time the charges of corruption and the threat of prosecution is brought into the fray is when keeping the dissenters and opposition in line...
I hardly think in 8 years he can stamp out corruption given the scale corruption was allowed to expand to under Bhutto and Sharif regimes. Musharraf has undoubtedly brought people to account. The NAB was established under Musharraf's rule. Nawaz Sharif could get away with paying $10 tax a year under his tenure, despite being one of the wealthiest people in his country. Under Musharraf, NAB have prosecuted military Generals, and retrieved millions of dollars from corrupt military and government officials. That in itself is a major sign of progress under Musharraf that one could not have dreamt of under a civilian government.

NAB has been relegated to a gov't tool to go after opposition, it has not prosecuted any major cases in the recent times...
Secondly, per transparency international's report, corruption has increased to 72% compared to BB's 42% and NS' 37%...no progress has been made at all...
Also, he has gone after only retired military personnel, and that too selectively, none of the fat cats sitting at GHQ have been scrutinized...

:D you are not reading the transparency international report right. What is states is contrary to your assertions so you may not want to use that as some proof.

People say that Musharraf has been awarded with US aid post 9/11 that's why Pakistani assets are 51 Billion Dollars now and Pakistan is no more a Bankrupt state as was in 1999....
Well I can assure you if we were still having those corrupt looters in this era we would still have been a bankrupt state despite having all this aid etc...

The aid money Pakistan has received is a minute percent of the amount the Pakistani economy has expanded over the last 8 years.

Saad_UAE - in some fronts Musharaf has certainly worked out better than bb ns etc. but it has come at the cost of great loss of rights, sovereignty and in general, severe damage to honor as a nation. In balance therefore I don'tthink these 3 are any different anymore. Look at the this CJ drama. Even Somalis are laughing at Pakistan!
