A leader leads by example… What Pakistan is lacking right now is a good leader… I remember reading somewhere that if one’s actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more then he/she is a good leader…
Can you think of a name in Pakistan who, in your opinion, would make a good leader? If you were given the power to elect Pakistan’s next president, who do you think would make a great one? (don’t say yourself )
Imran Khan perhaps? People really seem to like him and trust him… What about non-politicians… like tv personalities… Dr. Shahid Masood? He seems to care about Pakistan a lot… ? Name one person who you think could bring Pakistan out of this mess and give reasons.
ROTFLLLLLLLOL Dr Shahid Masood? Come on.. dont make me start over this..
Well about reality it can be Imran Khan as Prime Minister and Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan as President. (My idea)
But they cant come into power through elections as the elections are also being voted by government themselves. Its revolution that can only cause a change!! Youngsters / Students revolution.
I think Fatima Bhutto could make a great leader because she is an activist type who dares calling a spade a spade. That is not to say that she is completely unbiased, as far as her family feud is concerned, but, more importantly, she is accomplished and always seems to speak and write about the interests of the ordinary Pakistani people.
However she is unlikely to stand for elections because:
1) She has made clear that she doesn't believe in birthright politics and has not expressed any desire about entering politics.
2) She means well but can she articulate her thoughts to the awam as well in the language they understand? I am not sure. She lost her father at a young age. Her extended family was estranged. She grew up in the household with her younger brother and (step) mother, who was Lebanese and didn’t know much Urdu/Sindhi. There is thus likely to be a language barrier, although that can be overcome.
3) Unless she reconciles her differences with the Bhutto family and consequently PPP, she doesn't have much chance of garnering grass roots support from the mostly illiterate Pakistani awam.
4) It takes extraordinary courage, especially for a woman, to enter Pakistani politics. Her aunt surmounted many of the obstacles but Pakistan today is a different place from the one it was a couple of decades ago. Moreover, entering politics entails personal sacrifices and might mean forfeiting things like choosing a partner for herself and raising a normal family away from limelight and risks involved in being the head of state of a country like Pakistan. In the end it might not be worth it. Look at what unfortunately happened to her aunt.
Is it so hard to understand?
Imran has consistently been saying that attacking Taliban is not the solution. Instead he thinks that Pakistan needs to TALK to Taliban.
Support him if you really believe "talking" with those lunatics is a good idea.
Imran means compromises with Taliban. Support him at Pakistan's risk.
Stop believing in saviors.
exactly.
I don't see why we should be talking to people who are attacking us and killing Pakistanis by the hundreds. you don't talk to mass murderers, dakoos and badmaashes. you catch them and punish them. I don't see why Imran and fellow terror apologists insist on making a distinction between mass murderers and taliban.
and this Pakistani obsession with saviors I just don't understand. there is no white knight who is going to ride on his horse and change things with the flick of a switch. countries are run by systems - not angelic leaders. you build a strong system and it will survive even Dubya Bush. but if you insist on breaking the system over and over again and prevent it from evolving, then keep looking for saviors and live with garbage like Ayub, Yahya, Zia and Musharraf.
so, we should have sane discussions with insane people?
I'm going off topic now but.... what should we do then? Fight? Make more use of weapons instead of making use of our tongues and brains? Then whats the difference between them and us? We're also insane then, aren't we?
My point is that things should be resolved as peacefully as possible.... And* if* things don't work out by negotiations alone, then we obviously have to resort to other options ... options jin mein sub ki bhalayi ho.... And war is definitely the last resort ...
when a criminal commits a crime, what do we do? do we tell our police to put their weapons down so we can negotiate with the criminals and come to an arrangement that allows them to continue with their crimes? or do we take them to task under the laws of the land?
it is sad that people see bearded criminals and they want negotiations. had these people done the same thing without beards and any mention of Islam, assorted terror apologists would be asking that they be bombed into oblivion.
