Ayaz Amir, Ahsan Iqbal, Talat Hussain, Javed Ahmed Ghamdi are few i can think of.
I don't believe in "saviors" but that's a good list of people who should be more involved with govt power circles. I would add Aitzaz Ahsan, Sherry Rehman, Raza Rabbani, Pervez Rasheed, etc.

they have negotiated with many times. "peace" (more like surrender of the Pakistani state) accords have been signed before which were broken. one was signed in Swat as well and I think we all know what happened there.
and I'm fine with that. these people deserve nothing less than complete annihilation. no more talks. these terrorists need to be destroyed completely.

USA also favors talking with taliban and eventual agreements with them, so your logic puts USA at a great risk.

what is the relevance of the stats of the Taliban deaths in the Afghan war to the fact that terrorists are killing Pakistani civilians? does the former justify the latter in your opinion? Pakistan should not take action against terrorists in Pakistan because American cowboys and some Afghan cavemen are playing paintball with real bullets in Afghanistan?

First deserve then desire. We have a history of voting for and appointing the same assclowns over and over again - be that the bhuttos or the shareefs. I don't see a single sane banday da puttar in the whole power-struggle line-up. From these tried, tested and failed jokes for politicians, khotay mullas, that terrorist butthole altaf hussain hiding in the uk, to the people who make massive claims but don't have any political history whatsoever. They crush us over and over again and we curse them, but again we follow their rallies and chant praises, and elect them to ride our already abused arses again. And considering the fact that zardari is the elected head of state, perhaps we don't deserve any better.

Is it so hard to understand? Imran has consistently been saying that attacking Taliban is not the solution. Instead he thinks that Pakistan needs to TALK to Taliban. Support him if you really believe "talking" with those lunatics is a good idea.
US has tried that with all its might for a decade. UK and other NATO allies support talking to Taliban. Karzai government is talking to Taliban. Continuing with the war would simply create more Taliban. This is what a decade of conflict tells us. This is what Mushy's adventures in Baluchistan tell us.
Back to the topic. There is no 'agreed upon' person that we can rely on. For me, Ardsher Kawasji seems to be the only sane person who is educated, capable and controversy free. He knows the root causes of ills in Pakistan (lack of justice and education). Too bad he won't consider joining politics at this age.
