^ Both Hassan Raza and Faisal Iqbal are not openers either. The same argument applies, what if they score on friendly pitches at home and than fail abroad. At least with Malik we have a bowling option plus I would prefer Raza in the middle order. The last thing we want is to destroy his confidence by sending him as an opener.
