Pakistan’s failure to win its two match series in the West Indies means that three sides are now level on 100 points in the LG ICC Test Championship table.
Pakistan remains fourth in the official Test table but the 1-1 series draw has seen its rating fall by two points so that it is now ahead of Sri Lanka and South Africa only when the ratings are recalculated to three decimal places.
The home draw boosted West Indies’ rating by two points but it is still in eighth place, 22 points adrift of its nearest rival New Zealand.

ISLAMABAD: The recent drawn Test series against the West Indies has put Pakistan on the verge of moving out of the top four teams in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test rankings.
Pakistan, who had 102 rating points before the start of the West Indies series, lost the opportunity of going clear of their nearest rivals and are now tied with Sri Lanka and South Africa on 100 points. Any gains by Sri Lanka or South Africa from here on would put Pakistan out of the top four.
Sri Lanka are scheduled to play the West Indies in a Test series at home in July and if they win that series, Pakistan will definitely be out of the top four.
Before the West Indies series Pakistan had a two-point lead over Sri Lanka and South Africa.
Pakistan have a tough assignment ahead as they face world No 2 England as their next assignment at home in October this year. The series is considered as one of the toughest challenges for the Pakistanis in recent times.
With a clean sweep over Bangladesh in the two-Test series earlier this month, England have 111 points while world champions Australia are sitting comfortably at the top with 132 points. India, who drew the three-Test series at home against Pakistan earlier this year, are placed third with 107 points.
The drawn series against Pakistan have boosted West Indies’ rating by two points but they are still eighth, 22 points adrift of their nearest rivals New Zealand.
Meanwhile, the outcome of the Pakistan-West Indies series is also a point of worry for Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer, who might lose his bonus if Sri Lanka go on to beat West Indies in the home series.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has promised Woolmer a $50,000 bonus if he succeeds in keeping Pakistan among the top four Test playing nations of the world.
