agreed. the blueprint for future Pakistani cinema should be films like Khamosh Pani, Ramchand Pakistani, etc. enough of the musicals and the love stories, PLEASE!!!
Ramchand was no masterpiece but at least it was different… there was a real story there. Khamosh Pani, on the other hand, I do think is a masterpiece. wish one of Bushra Ansari or Saba Pervez were in it as the director had originally planned…
maybe I’m getting cranky in my old age but I have zero patience for Bollywood style musicals or the so-called “classics” from the (non-existent) “golden age” of Pakistani cinema.
saw it a couple of days back. would be hilarious if it wasn’t also so sad…
Shaan is an idiot. love how he talks when he shows up on TV… one would think that we’re watching a Daniel Day-Lewis/Scorsese 2-in-1 combo pack given how arrogantly he talks about the trash he calls his artistic work.
there are tons of ppl who do garbage work in our filam indushtry… but the ones who do the most damage to it are the delusional ones who actually believe they’re doing great work… e.g., Syed Noor, Javed Fazil, Shaan, Ajab Gul, etc…
