i agree with RF, that abbotabad is a really cool city...one of my favorites as well...
every city has its own pros and cons.
but do visit
Lahore
Karachi
Islamabad
Abotabad
and you will find closed super markets in all.
Lahorrrrrrrrrrre :bhangra:
<~~~ Completely Jealous!
Wow..
What is must be like to travel the world.
<~~Absolutely jealous.
Praying that all are safe and warm.
Just thought I'd check how this topic was going. :)
PCG and Fraudia :k:
Karachi is a live city, even late night you’ll find it active while most of country goes to sleep. Whenever you are hungry late night, just go out, you will find some good stuff available.
Though traffic is horrible in daytime, but then thats part of a “big city life”.
For a “pollution” free area, I think Abbottabad is great place ( I think, correct me if I’m wrong about pollution thing).
Forget the cities...
Just get ur bagback ready....and head of towards the Northern Areas....
Start of with Islamabad, Mansehra, Gilgit, kohat, Kafiristan....and there are so many other places i dont remember....all the way up to K2 base camp..
These are one of the most beautifull places on the planet....Cities have nothin to offer other than pollution...or the some elite boutiques and resturant and malls....which we see over here all the time..
yeah all kindsa places open until late night..
plus we have the beaches…you can still plan it so you can take a tanga from the hotels and have local restaurants can cater an eve picnic right on the boat basin, while some srangi and sitar players play for you. cool breeze, good food, good mood..and this can happen at mid night..by that time most of the country is asleep. The best city is where a member comes from. I will say "Lahore", someone else will say "Karachi". It doesn't make a difference. You need good company to make a city: "BEST". This is especially important if you are gauging it by where we can have the "best time". Very subjective, I must say.
V.good Point. I would assume that being the purpose built capital Islamabad is the most developed city in Pakistan and take that to mean best, most westernized.
For me, the best city in the world is Oxford, and its more of a town really. :p
KAMOKE !! ;)
BEST PLACE TO VISIT
IN MY OPINION THE BEST PLACE THAT I VISITED WAS HUNZA AND SKARDU.......................100% HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MISS IT...........MISS OUT!!!!!
Islamabad
A Greek firm Doxiadis Associates drew up a master plan triangular in shape, based on a grid system, with its opex towards the Margalla Hills. The planners envisaged Islamabad eventully absorbing Rawalpindi entirely and stretching well to the West of Grand trunk road.
It was the technical expertise of Doxiadis and course the dedication and hardwork of Pakistani engineers, technicians and workers which had turned Islamabad into the one of the most beautiful cities of the World.
The city is divided into eight basic zones Administrative, diplomatic enclave, residential areas, educational sectors, industrial sectors. commercial areas, rural and green areas. Each sector has its own shopping area and public park.
Islamabad today is the heart and soul of Pakistan, a city which symbolizes the aspirations of a young and dynamic nation that looks forward to a glorious future for its people, a city which welcomes modern ides but at the same time recognizes and cherishes its traditional values and its past history.

Heart and soul of Pakistan? That's exactly what it's not :)
But yes, it looks nice, maybe it's livened up a bit in the last few years as well.
