Pakistanis misbehave with us on the field: Yuvraj Singh

AHMEDABAD:
**“Which country’s cricket team hates India on the field?” Yuvraj Singh asked the 30-odd toddlers who had come to meet their cricketing idol, and they shouted “Pakistan”. **

The meeting with cricketers Yuvraj and Zaheer Khan had been organised here by Pepsi under the “Join the Huddle consumer contest” IANS news agency quoted Yuvraj as saying on late on Saturday night.

While Indian speedster Khan remained reticent during the interaction, Yuvraj took care of the talking.

“How would you concentrate on foreign terrain where the crowd is hostile and pressure is mounting?” asked a young fan.

“For a moment, we feel really feel pressurised,” admitted Yuvraj, “Especially on the grounds of a country where the crowd sympathises with our rival team and is booing at us.”

**“The match against Pakistan has never been played with true sportsman’s spirit. They (Pakistani cricketers) misbehave with us on the field and try to break our morale.” **

“We have learnt to ignore them. In my case, the game becomes a kind of meditation. Without getting elated by high scores or frustrated with dwindling wickets, I concentrate on the game – and that is how we win.”

“But the pressure on foreign ground is less than the pressure at home,” revealed Yuvraj, “When thousands of our fans are cheering for us, we feel called upon to win. Still, concentrating on the game through meditation is the name of the game for my teammates and me.”

Very intelligent of him to ask such a question.

what a question, what an idol and what a role model to follow by these 30 toddlers :)

^Exactly. Why do these reporters ask such questions ??

Wait till they go down to Australia later this year... then they will find out that while Pakistani players may have "misbehaved", Australian players and the hostile Aussie crowd will really tell them the real meaning of the word "misbehave" in the form of many unpublishable adjectives... something that will do wonders to Zaheer's already ugly vocabulary.
On the second thought, if Tendulkar keeps failing and India keeps missing the opportunities like they did in the first test, very soon they will get a taste of "misbehavior" from their own crowds as well.

No offense intended to Mr. Yuvraj, but from what I have heard from alot of Pakistani players is that they get along together fine with each other, alot better than they do with teams like Safrica and Australia. A friend of mine talked to Inzimam who said that he enjoyed the company of the Indian players on the field, they would make occasional light jokes in our own language. Since Inzimam has played more ODIs against India than Yuvraj has against Pakistan, maybe inzi is right. I also remember one other player from Pakistan once say 'its amazing how our governments are enemies and our cricket teams are friends'.

wah jinaab.. bakwaas karna to koi inn illon se seekhay..

i think the only misbehaving incidence i saw when shahid afridi said sumthin to Muhammed Kaif..

chori mar raha hai YUVI:mad2:

and btw, why do these indian players passin comments after like 8 or 9 months?:konfused:
b4 it was tendulkar who cudnt sleep for last 13 nights and now its yuvi’s turn…
after 1 week another headline will b " I married before Pakistan’s match: Indian skipper Saurav Ganguly "
:smack:

bunch of cry-babies :p

Where was he since March 1st?

Anyways, I heard Javed Miandad give an interview on Indian channel once where he said that crowd from the both countries are such idiots because after the game they fight each other, while both the Indian and Pak teams get togeather and eat Biryani in the locker rooms.

But I have high doubts, I just can't imagine Srinath eating Biryani.

what a shameful thing to teach children, shame on these people.

BTW, how many games Yuvraj has really played against Pakistan?

I'm looking forward to see Yuvi's face once McGrath comes close to have a chat on "how do u feel mate" the Aussie way after beating him outside the off ...... i would then like to ask him the question again after his experience on Aussie soil

well as far as i know and I ahve seen the game is palyed in a good fashion,, other than a few ( very few ) incidents...
I have even seen Pakis and Indians sahring water bottles (now thats a very good thing)

like I saw Saqlain taking water bottle from an Indian Player and drinking from it....

and I ahve seen Moin tieng laces of the Indian batsman,,,
so i really didnt feel it...
waissay i do find Ganguly sometimes to be over heating, other wise, there are no such incidents....

Well I am waiting for that one as well. I hope and pray that they do that against India. It is a very well known fact now that when Australians are given a taste of their own medicine they lose their confidence very fast.

As far as Yuvi's comment goes - I dont think he said (or atleast he meant )and it's just a tabloid looking for some attention. And If he did say that, then it is a childish and ignorant comment. He should apologize.

glenn would be asking more about " how does Schin's **** tastes like " Ruther than how do u fell mate.....lets see how this gentelman replies to that...

he has played only one game.. and he is complaining against paki behavior....this actually raises the level of respect i have for tendulkar...who has always been Pakistan's # 1 target but he never discuses on field matters off the field.

Yeah shame on him for discussing this with Young cricket fans. Every body who has played cricket or any other men's sport knows that it could get bad...but u expext that when u have men playing to win for their coumtries.(But nobody discusses that infront of children)

Hmm…as far as I know both teams get along with each other… friends of mine have attended dinners where both teams were present and both seemed to associate with one another on quite a personal level..joking, laughing, eating together…and even said that the enemity lies in the hearts of the fans…not the players, and the emotions that are displayed are indeed coz of the pressure from all the people watching…it’s a game..but when India-Pakistan or Pakistan-India which ever way you like to put it..when they meet up then it’s not a game anymore…which is sad..coz that’s all it really IS…A GAME!

If Yuvraj has indeed said all this and made those kids say what they did then shame on him..and every other Indian and or Pakistani who feels that way about each other…:nook:

If I may say so…I mean no offence..but the source IS a Pakistani one…can you find an Indian source on the same article? Just Asking
