Same here.

I do however know of some people who had stopped calling themselves Pakistani around 9/11 due to the enormous amount of animosity around that time. They had their reasons, were scared of being attacked and I dont blame them.

You could have just not said anything, whats’ the reason to lie?

If people ask me where I’m from I just say American. I really don’t like nor have the time to go into detail, where I was born etc. (Unless it was a friend or someone i was having conversation with). but strangers (and yes strangers really do ask me where I’m from) but I woudl never say “Indian” because I’m ashamed of being Pakistani…that’s just retarded

well my grandparents were from India. So if someone specifically asks where are your grandparents from - I would say India.
