Pakistani's have a crisis of identity?

With M2 and Moin bhai - insisting that Pakistani’s are ’ Caucasian / white" not ‘Asian/brown’.
Such people insist they are Aryans, they link Alexandra /Greeks invasion with themselves, they try to think they are all anchestors of Mogul rulers and Persian/Afgani invaders. They do not want to be linked to fact that the vast majority are just ‘converts’ from Hindus…

Crisis of Identity OR is this just inferiority complex on the part of some Pakistanis.

Re: Pakistani's have a crisis of identity?

both

Re: Pakistani's have a crisis of identity?

yeah i agree its both

Re: Pakistani's have a crisis of identity?

well, punjabis and pakhtoons make about 60% of pakistan. It is truley only sindhis and balochis who can be considered ex-hind converts. even then some arent native to hindustan as their families ancestors are the persian-turkish-arab invaders. Atleast 65% - 75% are not native Hindustanis.

Re: Pakistani's have a crisis of identity?

I don't understand whats so wrong in having Hindu ancestors? I think Pakistanis should not only recognize their hindu heritage but also be proud of ancient india's (call it bharat or hindustan if you want) achievements..

Persia was an amazing civilization and it followed the Zoroastrian religion.. later on they converted to Islam and today it is an Islamic state. Are they denying their Zorastrian past? Do they not take pride in their non-Islamic history and achievements? Why can't Pakistanis do the same?

I think the reason is a mixture of :
1) hatred for Hindus n Indian
2) inferiority complex towards the Arabs and Persians

Re: Pakistani's have a crisis of identity?

The crisis identity is becoming old news. Past few years' worth of events have really propelled Pakistani culture into a new realm.

Re: Pakistani's have a crisis of identity?

speaking of identity confusion, was the hindu caste system not based on skin color and ethnicity etc?

Re: Pakistani's have a crisis of identity?

yup it was indeed!

Re: Pakistani's have a crisis of identity?

yeah I have not yet met an indian in US who claims to be shudar or dalit.

Re: Pakistani's have a crisis of identity?

bhai the fact is that there is none remaining in India or outside India- all dalits and shudar people were killed by upper-castes brahmin and still being exterminated.

Re: Pakistani’s have a crisis of identity?

oh my goodness gracious me
someone give me a bite :frusty:

aray bhai, are raajput brahimin?

Re: Pakistani’s have a crisis of identity?

rajputs are not brahmins- they are muslims

Re: Pakistani’s have a crisis of identity?

do you know there are hindu raajputs as well :fatee:

Re: Pakistani’s have a crisis of identity?

we dont count Hindu rajehs as rajputs- we dont talk to them and we dont speak of them- but-parasti is haraam. They stole our caste name despite being from a very different racial stock(indigenous to the sub-continent unlike the real rajputs)

Re: Pakistani's have a crisis of identity?

abay naheeennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn :-O

Re: Pakistani’s have a crisis of identity?

What is this “new realm” if you don’t mind me telling? :konfused:

Re: Pakistani’s have a crisis of identity?

%between%

Re: Pakistani’s have a crisis of identity?

Well on gupshup there seems to be only a handful of Indian Hindus anyway but read this first paragraph from this site that showed how reservations( like affirmative action in america for minorities) has really helped dalits become successful. The Indian government seems to be doing everything to ensure that dalits are treated well and educated, it’s just the people in the villages tend to be a bit backward in their thinking. The reservations are like reserving a number of seats to dalits in certain colleges even if their test scores are lower, taking into consideration the disadvantaged life they have to face everyday.

The generation that is growing up now in India, i’m sure is giving lesser and lesser importance to caste system.

Re: Pakistani's have a crisis of identity?

yeah yeah, but we are talking of complexion related hangups and all, and the castse system was/is based mostly on complexion and racial stock isn't it?

Re: Pakistani's have a crisis of identity?

^ I have no idea about that
