A Pakistan legends side will play their Indian counterparts at the Rogers Centre, Toronto on March 3, 2007. The match comes one week before of the start of the World Cup in the Caribbean.
Wasim Akram will captain the Pakistan side, and Mohammad Azharuddin India in the 50-overs-a-side game. The organisers and the Canadian Cricket Association President, Mr Ben Sennik, hope for a capacity crowd of 60,000.
Canada holds the record attendance for a cricket match in North America, when around 43,000 watched a game at the same venue in 1989 (when it was called the Skydome).
This new event, which is billed as an attempt to bring “community togetherness through sports and entertainment”, is being presented by M+D Community Corporation in partnership with the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cricket Association.
Pakistan Legends vs India Legends - March 3rd, 2007 at the SkyDome, Toronto
Guys, this is my first post in this section. Hopefully it has not been posted yet. Correct me if I’m wrong, this match is coming to Toronto after 10 years of gap. So how many of you will be interested in going, even if it is a fixed match
Here is the Web site: http://www.cricketfrenzy.com/
Is it a TEST match? when I saw Shoaib Muhammad name, I am sure it is a test match, or may be some legends got Canadian immigration and needs free ticket for landing?
Re: Pakistan Legends vs India Legends - March 3rd, 2007 at the SkyDome, Toronto
There arent a whole lot of legends involved so the team names are kinda misleading. From the Pakistan squad I think Akram is the only one who qualifies as one and to some extent maybe Saeed Anwar. From the Indian side if you want to call Azhar a legend then there are many legends around the world, other then that no legends in that team.
