Pakistani Viewers of Indian Entertainment

Do you think there are fewer people watching Indian entertainment, now with all the recent political problems between India and Pakistan, and especially with the rise or comeback of pakistani tv channels?

I just went to the OTHER shor sharaaba forum, and mostly people are now talking about American entertainment or british - very few topics on indian movies, etc.

Or is it just my imagination? There isn’t even a separate forum for bollywood anymore (that I could see).

Re: Pakistani Viewers of Indian Entertainment

I don't know where you looked but the Bollywood section has always been there and alive and kicking under Shor Sharaba.

Personally, impressed from all the glossy promotion of Bollywood movies, I pick up the $2 DVD from the local Indian grocery store of the most popular title of the week and put it in a drawer in the hope of getting to it someday. But there is plenty of good stuff on Pak channels that I don't get to the DVDs much. I do check out the 1/2 hour daily Bollywood recaps occasionally from the free channels on Dish Network.

Re: Pakistani Viewers of Indian Entertainment

Haven't watched Indian movies in a while. Can't remember the last one I watched...

Can't stand all the trash like soaps and reality shows they dish out. I used to watch Saregama when Shaan used to host it after that it went down the retarded lane.

Re: Pakistani Viewers of Indian Entertainment

Same here, infact I don't even buy the DVDs anymore since I know I'll never get to watch them.

Re: Pakistani Viewers of Indian Entertainment

Never buy any DVD's but do go and watch film in the cinema if the review is good, never ever watch any drama, far too much drama on Pak news to entertain

Re: Pakistani Viewers of Indian Entertainment

yai entertainment CM ka haal hai:smack:

Re: Pakistani Viewers of Indian Entertainment

I like Sony TV's new serial ' Parvarish'. Well executed story for upbringing of children with different moods.

As far as Indian movies are concerned, I'm not interested in Dabbang, Ready, Bodyguard, Ra- One and Tees Maar Khan jaisi aisi waisi movies.

Re: Pakistani Viewers of Indian Entertainment

"now with all the recent political problems between India and Pakistan"

This is old news. Apparently, the Indian Navy, in a friendly gesture, claims Pakistan's jet fighters as one of its own. So looks like OP is not caught up with latest developments.

(Mods, this is only a joke, not a personal attack)

Re: Pakistani Viewers of Indian Entertainment

^ Pakistani movies?? :hmmm:

OK, If you know Panjabi then you should watch ‘Chooriyan’ and ’ Heer Raanjha’.

Urdu movies (simple wali urdu): I liked Zibahkhana (a horror movie very well made). Other Urdu movies Sargam (Adnan Sami & Zeba Bakhtiar), Tere Pyar Main (on the same concept of Veer Zara). Khamosh Pani (*ing: Kiran Kher from India), Raam Chand Pakistani (highly acclaimed movie).

All these movies are available on youtube.

Re: Pakistani Viewers of Indian Entertainment

What is Indian entertainment?

oh you mean "saas bahu and cold war" type dramas and "hero heroin and cloths nowhere" type of movies?

Re: Pakistani Viewers of Indian Entertainment

Thanks Vidurji. Will check your suggestions out.

The other Pakistani movie was abt a family of ~ 4 daughters and one brother - the brother is more a girl - their father is a conservative person, kills the boy - has another baby with a Heera Mandhi lady...

It was a gripping movie with excellent acting all around.

Re: Pakistani Viewers of Indian Entertainment

MQ. The little said about Pakistani movies, the better, except for the productions from 50s, 60s, and some 70s.
Can you even get any in decent print ?

Recent good productions like KKL, Bol, and Ramchand Pakistani are not even typical commercial Lollywood fares.
