Ok Ninja I heard that Marathi theatre is quite strong content-wise and probably Bengali and Gujratai theatre also attract a lot of people. Do they also show dances in those theatres?

LAHORE: The Qila Gujjar Singh police station house officer (SHO) on Sunday raided the Mehfil theatre, forcing the administration to close the ongoing show, arrested five cinema officials and allegedly took cash worth Rs 400,000, said cinema officials.
The second show of a play titled **‘Sayyan Ko Chor Ke Na Jana’ **was on air in the Mehfil theatre when SHO Ashraf Chaddar along with 15 policemen forced entry into the theatre. According to the producer of the play, Ali Raza Sherazi, SHO Chaddar was used to getting 10 to 20 seats reserved for him and his acquaintances daily. On Saturday, the SHO along with nine of his friends got seats at the back. The SHO insisted on front seats (boxes), which had already been reserved. Sherazi said the SHO left the theatre threatening him of dire consequences.

Lot of marathi tv artists in tv industry and bollywood are from theater ..so you can imagine quality of marathi theater...
But like bihari dance shows..there was a culture of marathi tamasha......it was similar to mujra...but i dont know how vulgar it was...
and in our part we dont have tamasha shows....but few years back when government was little lenient towards bar girls and dance bars...
Dance bars started to flourish all over maharashtra..but suddenly one home minister took initiative against them and we lost facility of sharab,shabab and kabab under one roof...:D
buut dance bars are continued their practise in some secret manners

Apart from the discussion what impact these dances and vulgar shows leaves on society, these dancers remained under constant threat of their lives. The society as a whole still shows hypocricy towards female actresses and singers. The concept of Kanjar and Meerasi is very much there inspite of people watching such programs with keenness.

if our own ppl bycott this then there is a small chance it may finish but again vidya balan ka dialogue yaad a gaya dirty picture ka entertainment entertainment entertainment

i think tht film the dirty picture actually showed the same thing, ppl used to curse her n say nasty things about her but again they were the one who watched her films n enjoyed it
