Pakistani theatre and Mujra Culture

Re: Pakistani theatre and Mujra Culture

Fan to HUm sirf apne hain:smokin:

Re: Pakistani theatre and Mujra Culture

So we agree that this cannot be stopped. What we do need to do is provide protection to the artists employed by this industry, being in this profession doesn't mean their life should be made even difficult than it already is. The government should regulate this, make sure there is age limit to get into these shows and no underage performers are use. The coercion these performers face is saddening. So it comes down to the same old problem of powerful men being above the law.

Re: Pakistani theatre and Mujra Culture

if you compare....they are equal , at worst, to the indian bolly 'item numbers' everywehre to be seen.......

Re: Pakistani theatre and Mujra Culture

Re: Pakistani theatre and Mujra Culture

Agree. Bollywood item numbers are not less vulgar than these mujras... but some how, I think that Nargis ka mujra dekh kar Rakhi Sawant ko bhi paseena aa jae ga

Re: Pakistani theatre and Mujra Culture

agree but nach gana is part of their culture not ours, this is the difference

Re: Pakistani theatre and Mujra Culture

Thats way they can present it like 'Hi hi ye majboori, ye mosam aur ye dori'and we got ' NeRay aa zalima way, main mar gai aan'. We got an edge in vulgar lyrics

Re: Pakistani theatre and Mujra Culture

ap ko bari information hai , sub vulgar lyrics pata han ;)

Re: Pakistani theatre and Mujra Culture

It is quite sad that our Stage Dramas devolved from Taleem-e-Balighan and Mirza Ghalib Bandar Road Per to aai pyar di haneri 2 anar hil gae

Re: Pakistani theatre and Mujra Culture

Re: Pakistani theatre and Mujra Culture

‘Neray aa’ was in movie ChooRiyan, thats howI know this. I saw movie on TV. One of my friend whi is NCA graduate told me that their group went to watch movie in cinema and that was the only song where crowd shouted ‘once more once more’, though the movie contained songs like ‘karan main nazara - copied in India’ and my all time favourite ’ Ud kothe aa tu kanwan we’ :bummer:

Re: Pakistani theatre and Mujra Culture

 no problem. shak bhi to apnon per kia jata hai :hehe:

Re: Pakistani theatre and Mujra Culture

i also have watched tht film n i only remmber tht song ud kothe aa tu kanwan we

Re: Pakistani theatre and Mujra Culture

dekha....its the bias we have.......kanjars are kanjars right? pakistani, indian, arabs..... same thing...and these things happen everywhere.......the extent to which they become 'out in the open' and 'tolerated' depends on the respective society......

if you would object to the 'vulgarity' of stage mujra........might as well do the same about the indian award shows that are broadcasted for 3 hours or so every weekend on all major tv channels...

Re: Pakistani theatre and Mujra Culture

Yes TLK, the quality of stage dramas deterirated rapidly after the involvment of Bhands in those dramas. Ajoka theatre produced good dramas on social and historical subjects. They did ‘Burqa Vaganza’ a satire on Purda, they also worked on forgotten Punjab heroes like Poran Bhagt and Dulla Bhatti. In 90 ‘Janam Janam ki Meli Chadar’ based on Bedi’s novel attracted audiences for more than five years, but today people are behind ‘2 anar hil gae’ te ‘pyar di ganderi’ :hoonh:
