As far as the results are concerned, it doesn't matter what squat Pakistan fields. Indians will determine their win or loss.
Apart from gaining some much needed experience for some of the new players, the only interesting part is they have now set the groundwork for more Shoab drama - they'll probably fly him in midtour if not sooner

You guys should stop acting like sheep. It's a proven fact that Shoaib is our best bowler in test matches, and the freakin' selectors created circumstances that forced him to opt out of the tour. I am not saying this as a Shoaib fan, but as someone who wants Pakistan to face India with the best bowling line up in the country. Now we have pie throwers like Sami and Khalil. I still have to see Rana at the test level, but I have high hopes from him. We are going to India with only one test level bowler, and that's Kaneria. Good luck with winning even one freakin' test.

You are right it will probably be a 0-3 defeat for Pakistan. However, I would rather see a bowler bowl his heart out for his country, no matter how mediocre, than see a so called superstar pull another injury stunt and leave the team high and dry.
Abdul Razzaq should have been vice-captain...i mean come on - how long are you gonna wait for him not to charge on and off the field?
the squad is decent - Arshad Khan's recall should be applauded since he is off-spinner and his height gives him decent advantage against bastmen....i would expect Kaneria to be on his top form too...Indian pitches should be dead ones..and there should be lotta scoring from both sides...
however in recent series among both nations.. the successful spinner from Pakistan side on Indian soil has been Saqlain..and none of the spinners from Pakistan and other courntries have even gotten close to his figures...
p.s. what's the Indian squad? i'll give out my prediction in Test series then..

Arshad Khan has quite good loop actually and has the height factor as Talha mentioned. The only problem is that he has been away from the test team for quite a while now. I would have much preferred Saqlain. Anyway, enjoy the whitewash, homies.

You know, Fazl-E-Akbar had been the leading wicket taker for many years in domestic cricket. Our domestic cricket means crp, that’s why we had judges like Imran Khan picking first class cricketers out of their own personal trials instead of looking up some statistics in first class cricket. Shahid Nazir could have been no more potent than Khalil. So relax and enjoy the whitewash as much as you can.*

Its not just Pakistan’s domestic structure which we can blame, its the individuals as well. England’s county performers are not any better either, so is true for South Africa and India’s “domestic” performers. Some top domestic performers keep their performance even when they play international games, but many of them crack under pressure. Rana, Rao and many other domestic performers do make it to team and keep their performance, their performance on international scene may not be as great in International cricket but still it counts. So relax, as they gain experience I’m sure they’ll imrpove :insha:

Imran Khan before and after winning the world cup has always said that we need a change in our domestic structure, something more robust and similar on the lines of english counties, Many says that Australian system is good! well I have to agree they have great system (domestic circuit) whatever the case maybe.
Well here is one question for those ppl, Sarfarz Nawaz, Asif Iqbal, Zaheer Abbas, Jawaid Miandad, Imran Khan himself, Wasim, Waqar, Saeed Anwar, Inzi, yoyo and Shoaib Akther and many more…
they all came from the same system even if we speak of Rao and Rana, domestic performance will never be the sole reason as to why we will have the best 11, what PCB is simply doing and pressure implied by the coach is that they want a bunch of 25 players which can be replaced when someones performance is not satisfactory in their eye. which is not a good option.
They should have A and B (under - 19) team and they should be send abroad and other teams should be invited to play so they can gain experience.
I read in the newspaper a while ago that PCB has revive the inter-school challenges and inter-college tournaments which is a good thing but one must ask this question when will we get the fruitful results? One may guess by the time of WC 2007, if PCB and the coach are sincere there are many options which they can work with

we see in NFL the word scouts and “scouting” I know same thing applies in cricket and have met some of the ppl myself who draft you for the bank teams which only is discouraging coz only those ppl get that who are preferred by the scout and not what the performance is on the sheet. simply “parchi system” should come to end.

I am honestly content with the team selected for the tour but like it is said " there is always room for improvement"
Perhaps this tour of India will be a carrier maker or breaker for many of the players. since these guys are together for a while.

As expected. No surprises here for the ‘In’ players
Team is dis-balanced and has no ‘visible body or structure’ for stretegic planning.
The reason is quite simple. Pakistan has no ‘Proven talants’ left in the kitty bag.
Yoyo has been disgraced and ‘ill-rewarded’ for some good ‘Captaincy’ in Australia.
Younis as VC don’t make sense to me.
What the heck! Nothing make sense about this tour so far any ways.
