Re: Pakistani Taliban militants caught on tape stoning woman to death
Sorry I am not convinced. I hate these barbarians as much as you do and I have not watched a single video of violence till this day. I dont care what media is doing but my TV remote and my PC mouse is in my control, I choose what I watch.
Media also shows porn but you chose not to watch it? Why cant you or others use the same choice when it comes to violence.
It would largely depend on the intent of watching the video, research and entertainment are vastly different reasons.
Pornography and news are different. Pornography is viewed for pleasure, videos as this (please note, i, myself, have not seen this video) make reality hit home. Given though, that hearing about an event is enough and one does not have to seen but again, I said for the purpose of research and authentication it is not comparable to entertainment.

.
so please tell me again why would you watch a video of a mob killing an innocent person? WHat reserach would you be doing by wtaching that video (unless you are investigating that crime)

Just because I support the viewing of a video for the intent of research, does not mean I watch the videos myself (I clarified I hadn't, as I frankly do not have the time nor determination to do so). But I see no reason in dissuading others from doing so. Investigators are not the only ones who try to get to the truth of something. Heck, is there any one reputable who even cares to research on this? This is why the common folks choose to do it by themselves, or because they feel the evidence is bias etc.
