Unlike among Hindus, who are Indian by default, the concept of nationalism is a far more complex a topic among Muslims.
Many simple minded people, including many Hindu Indians, put it in very stark, black and white terms, such as our country or your faith, and thus ignore the implications of this for those in a religion like Islam.
I doubt you would understand. This lack of nderstaning is what creates the resentment many of your Hindus feel for Indian Muslims. This assumption that like you, it is easy for people of other faiths to abandon their beliefs in favor of nationalism.
