strangely no loadshedding since morning…how come PEPCO has got surplus electricity all of a sudden .

Finally after Everyone put fire on Lesco office here at my side in Lahore…Electricity is bit stable now else they would cut it off for 4 hours consective after 1 hour

The production has been restored to calm down people, they will forget in few days then load-shedding will resume.

With approx 12 hour load shedding.. Wapda has approx 185 billion rupees deficit. Without load shedding this deficit will balloon up to 400 billlion rupees. The problem is not the capacity, the problem is where the government is going to find this 400 billion rupees per annum to finance this deficit. People don’t want to pay tax or pay Rs.18/ per unit instead of Rs.8/ per unit which is the real cost of generating and distributing this additional electricity to end load shedding…

We are in the habit of blaming the government for everything without understanding the real issue..!!!

The government needs to improve the infrastructure which is losing power in distribution, government needs to put an end to electricity theft which will greatly reduce the deficit but for all that to happen government needs to eliminate thieves amongst itself first … and if they do that there won’t be a government

They are buying electricity from IPPs for Rs. 15 per unit. The cost of distribution plus line losses is Rs 3 per unit. They are billing you at an average price of Rs 8 per unit. This has created a huge deficit for Wapda which is being paid by the government. It’s not the government who is responsible for oil prices to be consistently higher than US$ 100/ per barrel in the International market..

bhai sahib, oil price has been lower than $100 for many weeks already.
