They are buying electricity from IPPs for Rs. 15 per unit. The cost of distribution plus line losses is Rs 3 per unit. They are billing you at an average price of Rs 8 per unit. This has created a huge deficit for Wapda which is being paid by the government. It’s not the government who is responsible for oil prices to be consistently higher than US$ 100/ per barrel in the International market..
