Re: Pakistani Players in Counties Season 2006
Mohammad Asif is not very impressive in the 2 games he has played so far for Leicestershire. He got figures of 10-3-44-1 in first ODI against Lancs. Danesh Mongia got 4-25. Leicestershire were all out for 125 chasing 194.
In 2nd 4-Day match against Surrey, he has figures of 23-3-62-0 so far, Surrey piled up 320-4.
Asif’s interview with BBC in English. Actually his English is better than Inzi’s. http://www.bbc.co.uk/leicester/realmedia/sport/2006/04/mohammad_asif_interivew.ram
Look what BBC’s site has put as Asif’s image. Looks like Sri Lankan bowler, may be Maharoof:

Article about Asif (u can listen to same interview on the link that I’ve provided above):
Asif fine tuning game for England
Asif was man of the recent Test series against Sri Lanka
Paceman Mohammad Asif says his stint with Leicestershire will be ideal preparation for Pakistan’s Test series in England later this summer.
Asif is expected to be a key player for the tourists in the four Tests, the first starting at Lord’s on 13 July.
“I want to learn English conditions because after three months we have the tour,” he told BBC Radio Leicester.
“England in England will be a very tough side because they know the wickets and weather conditions.”
The 23-year-old came to prominence after taking 10 wickets for Pakistan A against England last winter.
“It was almost the same England team that had won the Ashes and when I started I was under pressure bowling to some big names,” he recalled.
“But the ball started swinging both ways and after that I was okay.”
He played no part in the Test series, which Pakistan won 2-0, but came in for the last game of the one-dayers against England.
Since then Pakistan and Asif have gone from strength to strength - he took 24 wickets in three Tests against Sri Lanka - but insists England will prove difficult to overcome this summer.
“You only have to look at the last Ashes, and they were playing well even before that in England,” he added.
"They are a good side and will give us a tough time.
“Pakistan did well against India and Sri Lanka afterwards but England are not a bad Test side - it will not be easy to beat them here.”
