Re: Afridi ....

He is a fine and cricketer of which opposition shoud be wary off...

Come on Maihu... but this performance is against Gloucestshire? and than look at the figures of another bowler just under his analysis...
So don't give too much weightage to this...

Re: Afridi ....

:D

Re: Afridi …

oho :smack: please don’t open threads for county performances, esp this was already discussed here

Yorkshire 272 v Sussex 37-1
Pakistani pair put Sussex on top
Pakistani duo Rana Naved-ul-Hasan and Mushtaq Ahmed starred for Sussex as they bowled Yorkshire out for 272 before closing on 37-1 at Headingley.
Naved (4-86) and Jason Lewry took care of the top order as the hosts slumped to 24-3 after choosing to bat first.

But Naved and Mushtaq (3-68) polished off the tail before Matthew Hoggard trapped Richard Montgomerie lbw.

Mohammad Asif celebrates with his Leicestershire team-mates, Essex v Leicestershire, Chelmsford, May 4, 2006

“World-class” Asif boosts hopes of first Championship win

The Pakistan paceman extracted life out of the Chelmsford pitch to claim figures of 5-56 as Essex were dismissed for 242 in their reply to Leicestershire’s first innings total of 417 on the second day.

But as Boon stated: “Though it may be hard to imagine, Asif bowled even better in the second innings without any luck.

“I lost count of the number of times he beat the outside edge and had the batsmen in trouble, but that is encouraging for us because there still seems to be some juice in the wicket for him to exploit.

“I am sure that if the bowlers maintain a disciplined approach on the third day, then the wickets will come for us.”

He added: “Asif is a world class performer and he showed that today by bowling exceptionally well. They had left some grass on this pitch and he made the most of that to zip it around off the seam."

Re: Pakistani Players in Counties Season 2006

Finally!!! I was getting a bit worried. It's good for Pakistan that he's playing county... he'll get used to the conditions by the time Pakistan arrives their in June.

Re: Pakistani Players in Counties Season 2006

rana grabs 7 wkts in 2nd inngs 22-5-62-7 (1nb, 2w)

Re: Pakistani Players in Counties Season 2006

Good to see Asif having some success in county. Hopefully by the time Pak arrives in England he will have a good idea of English pitches.

On the other hand England is resting Simon Jones and he is going to miss the Sri Lankan series as well. I think they will bring him back against Pak. And we will see our players fishing...specially the openers.

Re: Pakistani Players in Counties Season 2006

The way Rana and Asif are bowling and if we can get a fully fit Shoaib, well England here we come. :yummy:

Re: Pakistani Players in Counties Season 2006

That will be a very interesting contest. But our batting is no good.

Re: Pakistani Players in Counties Season 2006

yep, even our best batsmen can't play a little bit of swing.

Re: Pakistani Players in Counties Season 2006

Mohammad Akram took 2-43 and 6-34 playing for Surrey against Gloucestershire. Another Pakistani who wants to get back into the team, or is he Brit??
