For me, Rana deserves this award the most. He has played so well and gives 100%. Just what Pakistan team need. Go Rana!

Player of the Year is too general. I suppose you are only talking about Cricket, so it will be Pakistani Cricketer of the Year.
I'd say, without doubt, Pakistan's Cricketer of the Year is Inzamam. He has single handedly invigorated our national team, both as a batsman and as the captain.
Honorable Mentions, and "Most Improved Cricketer Award" should jointly (and ironically) go to Younis Khan and Shahid Khan Afridi.
Rana can get the "Rookie of the Year" or something.

Shahid Afridi,
because his hard-hitting was the biggest force behind Pakistan's success this year, especially in India (in ODIs). He was also one of our most successful bowler. Without his furious start in the second innings of the third test, it might have been very difficult for Pakistan to win it and draw the series.

Rana is the pride and joy of the Pakistani cricket team. He brings to the team the passion, the will and the determination which we all have with in us. It has been absolutley marvellous watchin him over the past 12 months. His passion to represent and do well for Pakistan makes him stand head and shoulders above the rest and make me feel a very Proud Pakistani. I will go on to say as far as that Rana as an individual is all that is goood and we all love about Pakistan.

I wanted to start a poll regarding this at the end of season (series agaisnt windies) but too bad polls arent working properly :(
Anyways, for test matches I would say that Inzimam and Younis are close. Younis has played at last four match winnings test knocks as well has Inzimam.
For one dayers it is too close to call. Rana Naveed and Shahid Afridi get my votes. Afridi has done it with both bat and ball but Naveed carried Pakistan attack in one dayers. Hmmm thats a tougie.

I would go for afridi for his allround perofrmance starting from the VB series all the way to the WI tour. I personally think he is the undisputed ODI player of the year for pakistan.
In test matches its a close contest between younis and inzi. Both played crucial knocks in the 2 test matches we won this year and its a really touch choice. To me both of them were the player of the year in test matches:D
