On a personal note.. I used to get into religious arguments with people in the past and what I have come to understand is that about 90% of the time, the people involved in the debate already have their minds made up. Facts are facts and can be manipulated according to ones view points .. thanks to statistics...
My conclusion.. Religion is personal and lets keep it that way. As far as the progress in Pakistan goes, I think some progress is being made.. but sadly as we move a step ahead and we are pushed back 2 steps thanks to our other engagements with terrorists and what not.. I think if the current man in charge really wants to revive the Pakistani society and leave a legacy that for once we will all cherish, he should improve the educational system for a better future. The educational standards should be uplifted and to be an obligation for anybody under the age of 18. For the drop outs, 4 years in military would teach them a few tricks and discipline for a better life...I think we will be in a much better shape... Secondly the justice system and the police should be investigated. I think a society that is educated (schools) has a sense of physical security (police) and feels that everyone has an equal opportunity (Justice system) is bound to prosper.
Remember its evolution not revolution.. its education not agitation that Pakistan needs. Pakistan is still a 60 year old baby in front of a 250 Year old mighty US... so any comparisons would not be fair.

I’ve read so many threads today talking mainly about the transition in pakistan…
Ppl dissing watever the progress we r making in pakistan…
and i’ve noticed the majority of the people who love to shower they critical analysis r living abroad… why is that???
*Why cant we be happy that our pakistan is making progress and we r emerging as a **modern *islamic country in 21st century.
I hate those sucker pakistani who say bullcrap about our own pakistan.

The only way Pakistan is going to make progress in the true sense is when it makes progress while keeping its own values intact. Currently, they seem to be running after what the West does. I must admit, in some ways, we have to advance in ways similar to West; but that has to be while keeping our own values.
