I’ve read so many threads today talking mainly about the transition in pakistan…
Ppl dissing watever the progress we r making in pakistan…
and i’ve noticed the majority of the people who love to shower they critical analysis r living abroad… why is that???
*Why cant we be happy that our pakistan is making progress and we r emerging as a **modern *islamic country in 21st century.
I hate those sucker pakistani who say bullcrap about our own pakistan.

Hate as you like but fact is that Pakistan may be emerging as a modern country (Read: western/US norms of Vulgarity in modern terms) in 21st century but in no way you should be adding ISLAMIC to that phrase.

as far as my little view, islam is fastly being practiced in pak....much more than it was in the past few years...i may be wrong but thats what i noticed :)

perhaps you've noticed that among the people that you hang out with. I've heard from people living in pak that american muslims are more religious then many pakistani muslims.

Yes i added islamic on purpose cuz ppl have issue with pretty much anything constructive cuz ppl living abroad or in pakistan like to bragg about us being muslims and at the same time demanding for more freedom.....
let it be the dress code of actors n actreses in paki media or the kind of food we eat or foreign developer investing in pakistan or actions of pak military for the well being of pakistan....
it all leads to the one phrase" oh my god we r muslims we shouldnt be doing this".

The main reason Pakistan was seperated from India was to make a whole new country for the Muslims of that region. Now, if we go through such "transitions" and become "modern", I feel that this will contradict the reason that the country was originally founded. Islam can never be "modernized", and it will always remain the same.

very true, american muslims are deffinately much better 
but…its slowly happening in pak too…i dunno where or when but ppl have opened their eyes to the fact that they are only practicing what was passed down to them…
I agree that in villages and remote areas, ppl are too ignorant…but they cant be much blamed cuz they have not many means of correcting themselves for lack of media or communication.

Individuals might be practicing it more than ever but at the same time, what is being happening with all those mugging and bribery and chor bazaari? It has increased as well.. I can show you many business owners who pray five times and then do “zakheera andozi” in ramadhan and it has increased; and on top of that it is well established principle in Islam that we get our leaders appointed on us based on how our deeds are… Islam is not a religion of individualism… A complete Islam demands a total socio-political-economic dominance over the life of a nation… A country where the president can start giving licenses of Liquor and where the media has gone to the vulgarity by breaking all the taboos considered HARAAM otherwise, I do not see a collective Islam to be propagating… Islam has been made a Madhab and Deen is nowhere left…
