ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - Disgraced Pakistani nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan, who confessed to leaking sensitive nuclear technology to Iran, North Korea and Libya, is battling prostate cancer, the government said Tuesday.
Really sad to learn, I wish he comes out successful in this battle.

Captain this is a good or bad news for Pakistan??? According to me this is a good news for Pakistan future otherwise anytime later Qadeer could come in Bush dreams..

For all the good that AQ Khan has done for Pakistan he has also done great harm to Pakistan for selling nuclear secrets all over the world.
For being in house arrest is a constant irritant to Pakistan.
His usefulness to Pakistan is over.
Instead of making the bomb and then retiring from Work into a nice comfortable house in Pakistan he instead chose to export nuclear secrets to other countries.
I think its for the best that he dies and given a hero's funeral and this ugly episode fades into the past.

^ thats just wrong, I mean first of all, he wasnt the brains behind the whole thing like you say, but hes a human being, and everyone makes mistakes. I dont deny the fact that he made alot of money but you have to realize he thought he did it for the greater good. Whatever the case, I hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Lets not fall in the blame game, he was not working solo, he had a solid backing from our military who backed out just like Taliban case... he was used and sacrificed. Lets just focus on his sufferings in this thread.

I didn’t get one thing Captain why are you calling this a Blame Game ?? Please let us know what do you think about him ???.. His reality was also admit by your own Govt. According to me your Govt. should have punished him strictly coz he did deal for millions of innocent people live, but as you know therez no rules & regulations in PK. A single nuclear bomb can be a distaster for Millions of innocent people and you are trying to pretend him.. yeh baat meri kuch hazam nahi ho rahi Captain

You are acting as if you were born yesterday or you have just landed from Mars. Dr AQ Khan was made the scapegoat, he got all the blame and punishment while no one else was “punished” or even investigated (at least not heard on media). One of the reasons he was not punished “strictly” was because he was only the scapegoat while there were many others involved, if he were to be punished ‘strictly’ he would’ve been forced to spill beans about others causing much embarrasment to the government.
You are claiming as if he sold the nuclear secrets to your VHP or RSS (or whatever that org is), he sold it to a “government”, so spare the us the cry of “A single nuclear bomb can be a distaster for Millions of innocent people”.

Captain you cant run from this reality, just coz of him today Iran is in position to built a nuclear bomb and you know better why Americans are after Iran coz Iran is also involved in terrorist activities and Qadeer was in touch with Iran since 1989, he sold all nuclear technology not only to Iran but countries like Libya and North Korea just for his own Benefit. A person who can sell nuclear technology just for MONEY to irresponsible countries what you can expect from him ??? Captain I’m sure you also know honestly, no one trust on countries like Libya Iran, PK and North Korea just coz of their background.
I tell you very honestly Captain what I feel from inside, You are trying to pretend him just coz of he belongs to your land, a pure muslim like you and a founder of your country’s nuclear technology but that does’nt means he could cross his limits. If this ever happens even in India in future, I’m sure that person would be punished very strictly coz I know the difference between a responsible country and irresponsible country. He will be definetly bring into justice and will be treated seriously not in Mazak Mazaak..
