Re: Pakistani Journalists - a joke!
Ok, I saw the press conference and ok I see what you're saying. prolly at an occasion or two the manner in which the question was asked wasn’t proper but now, now...the question itself sure was.
Bunch of crap load being indulged by the interior minister can’t be taken lightly, anyway. he says in these three days the nation has suffered 30 arub of loss, arson incidents, to banks and offices and burglaries etc. and then he goes on to say "now" we're going to deploy the army.
NOW? Are you kidding me? What’s the rush now, too. Take your sweet ass time.
Journalists were right in asking why the gov’t took so long to deploy the armed forces. While it is true that in many countries it would take a little time to deploy the military to confront a negative circumstance. But those countries don’t face the challenge of daily bomb blast or suicide bomber in public. The way situation has been in Pak in the recent few months your police, emergency services, armed guards everything should constantly be ready. And an event of this proportion when they knew it was major trouble, they wait till three days?
They weren’t ready to confront the rioters setting fires to buildings in three days but they were ready to beat the crap out of women and students in mere hours.
Have you not seen that army moved in against Lal-masjid terrorists after many months, even when these terrorists were terrorizing Islamabad and were destroying government as well as private properties? Problem is that if government would have used force even against lal-msjid terrorists in the beginning than many would have said that government has done wrong, but then even when after many months government acted, many believe that government acted wrong (though at lease many now believe that what government did was right, as after many months of seeing terrorist activities by lal-masjid goons, many went against them.
If government had deployed army on first day, that could have created more reactions from ignorant and than all would have blamed government that why they deployed army, especially in province Sindh where many mistrust army. At least now, people are demanding that army should take control.
To me, not employing army or rangers from day one but after riot was very prudent move by government (as it was politically required and was necessary for keeping unity in country).
