Pakistani Journalists - a joke!

I was watching the press conference of interior ministry spokesman and there were journalists asking all sort of stupid questions. The guy got some patience! You have to give this to him.

Listening to that conference you start wondering where have these Jahils graduated? No discipline, no common sense, no self confidence, cant even speak their own language Urdu!

You get the feeling they are asking questions just for the sake of it. Not interested in answers. Here is one example:

Journalist 1 in Urdu: Agar aapko pata tha kay itnay nuksanat ho saktay haiN to Day 1 say hi military ko deploy kiu nahi kiya gya nuksanaat ko roknay kay liye ? **
Spokesman:** There is a standard procedure, first of all police is deployed then rangers and then …].

5 minutes later another journalist:

Journalist 2: Jab aapko pata hay kay is waqat loguN kay jazbaat military kay kuch khilaaf ho saktay haiN to phir aap nay military ko kiu deploy kiya gya hay?

Spokesman: Blinks in disbelief.

And I was like .. **** *** **** !

Seriously guys, don’t you think media needs an overhaul?

Re: Pakistani Journalists - a joke!

^^ it will take time, People of pakistan just start living as free humans. They will be educated as the time passes. Personally i don't like the emotional attitude of our nation in a tragedy. They go way too much..

Re: Pakistani Journalists - a joke!

Yeah e33or jee I know what you mean.

But seriously, wouldn't mind if it were some ordinary Pak. But these guys are supposed to be educated and have at least some Niveau.

It just annoys me to see this.

Re: Pakistani Journalists - a joke!

Pakistani journalists are extremely irresponsible, the way they provide 24 hour coverage to all the anarchist elements going on rampage, with "live feeds" from the streets ad-libbed with some "commentary by intellectuals". These idiots don't realise that they are feeding copycat violence, which spreads across a much wider region.

Re: Pakistani Journalists - a joke!

Ok, I saw the press conference and ok I see what you're saying. prolly at an occasion or two the manner in which the question was asked wasn’t proper but now, now...the question itself sure was.
Bunch of crap load being indulged by the interior minister can’t be taken lightly, anyway. he says in these three days the nation has suffered 30 arub of loss, arson incidents, to banks and offices and burglaries etc. and then he goes on to say "now" we're going to deploy the army.
NOW? Are you kidding me? What’s the rush now, too. Take your sweet ass time.

Journalists were right in asking why the gov’t took so long to deploy the armed forces. While it is true that in many countries it would take a little time to deploy the military to confront a negative circumstance. But those countries don’t face the challenge of daily bomb blast or suicide bomber in public. The way situation has been in Pak in the recent few months your police, emergency services, armed guards everything should constantly be ready. And an event of this proportion when they knew it was major trouble, they wait till three days?

They weren’t ready to confront the rioters setting fires to buildings in three days but they were ready to beat the crap out of women and students in mere hours.

Re: Pakistani Journalists - a joke!

"Army kills x number of rioters"..you also don't want that news being spread by journos just the next day. Plus, the army takes its time to deploy. It's not a quick reaction force.

Re: Pakistani Journalists - a joke!

yeah a couple of weeks.

Re: Pakistani Journalists - a joke!

Mr.Einstein situation in Pakistan demanded at that time for not to deploy the army. Their are certain procedures, its not like some people are firing and you call the army. First its up to city gov and police, if they can't take it, they can request for rangers or para-military help. Army came in the end.

Crapping out of women and students are not wide scale, maybe 100 or maximum 500 people are protesting. They can be easily handle by our mola-jutt type police.

Re: Pakistani Journalists - a joke!

^and where was your first line of defence?

Re: Pakistani Journalists - a joke!

**
they were back off, because of your lovely PPP jailaye ...gov strategy was to show restraint...and it worked **

Re: Pakistani Journalists - a joke!

The interior minister should have explained how the army wallaz were reserved in case a bunch of weak lawyers, someone protesting about his missing father, or some highschool teens protesting against mushy showed up. Just a matter of precedence.

Re: Pakistani Journalists - a joke!

Did any1 notice that yesterday's press confrence was not over, as soon as he READ Mahsood's conversation, those idiots gathered around him to get hold of coppies, bringing press confrence to an abrupt end. He was telling them earlier that he will PLAY the recorded conversation in Pushto for the audiance.

Re: Pakistani Journalists - a joke!

Have you not seen that army moved in against Lal-masjid terrorists after many months, even when these terrorists were terrorizing Islamabad and were destroying government as well as private properties? Problem is that if government would have used force even against lal-msjid terrorists in the beginning than many would have said that government has done wrong, but then even when after many months government acted, many believe that government acted wrong (though at lease many now believe that what government did was right, as after many months of seeing terrorist activities by lal-masjid goons, many went against them.

If government had deployed army on first day, that could have created more reactions from ignorant and than all would have blamed government that why they deployed army, especially in province Sindh where many mistrust army. At least now, people are demanding that army should take control.

To me, not employing army or rangers from day one but after riot was very prudent move by government (as it was politically required and was necessary for keeping unity in country).

Re: Pakistani Journalists - a joke!

we first need to become humans. freedom comes later.

Re: Pakistani Journalists - a joke!

Sir, have you even read my post?

The first journalist was asking "Why the army was NOT deployed?"

and the second "Why the army WAS deployed"?

Now I dont have anything against journalists asking serious questions with discipline, but these crooks aren't even worth a horse $hit!

Do you mean the Lal Masjid?
If yes, what can I say.

Its like "Karo to bhi maRo, na karo to bhi maRo!" (the example with journalists gives you a hint!)

Re: Pakistani Journalists - a joke!

Pakistani Journalism is still young... Mass media too is relatively new.
Give the Pak journalists and media time to evolve.. The market will take care of itself, the journalists and News channels who are worth the time will get their share of air time, those that arent, people simply wont watch.

Re: Pakistani Journalists - a joke!

true, in due time real journalists would emerge and journalism would be a field that would attract good students and not the leftovers who could nto get in med school, engineering, school, business school, or computer sciences.

The hope is that the same will happen in the religious education shere at soem point in time.

Re: Pakistani Journalists - a joke!

during the days of soviet union, huge number of journalists were in the pocket books of kgb. these days indian agencies are the prime benefactor. even then journalists cant pay their bills. banks dont issue credit cards to journalists and nor to lawyers.
