Pakistani international students

I already knew that quite a few of the Pakistani international students were messed up but I thought their activities were limited to drinking, clubbing, dating, etc. Imagine my surprise when I discovered they fornicate as well and don’t seem to have any problem with it. I understand that they’re mostly from the upper class in Pakistan (that is the only way that I figure they can afford the international fees at my uni) and that, for some strange reason, means that they have to try to be as “western” as possible, even if it means losing most of their values, but I thought they must have a limit considering they came from the “Islamic republic of Pakistan”. I can’t look at these people the same…So much bothers me about them. I can go on and on…before I end, lemme vent about the PSA. They formed it yet do absolutely nothing to help Pakistan (i.e. they could hold fundraising events to help the poor, etc.) nor do they enlighten the public about it. The PSA seems to be a club where you get together with fellow international students, get drunk, and fornicate. Ugh.

Re: Pakistani international students

I agree with you with respect to the PSA part ...

Re: Pakistani international students

What they do abroad is what they do in Pakistan. You have no idea of how much of that stuff goes on in Pakistan - those of us who grew up outside often have a very rosy picture in our minds. A couple of my friends in Karachi told me some stories about what actually happens in Pakistan that opened my eyes....

One of my friends who went to school in Lahore was driving in Lahore one evening when he was 17 and after parking, noticed that the car beside his one was rocking. So he looked inside and was met by the sight of a guy fornicating with 2 women.

(yes, he did stick around to watch "the show")

Re: Pakistani international students

wtf is "fornicating"? are you people biblical characters?

Re: Pakistani international students

ok help me understand larki. These paki intl guys drink/fornicate or whatever, what does that have to do with you? Why are you so upset? Let it be. Whatever they do, they are responisble and answerable for it. You don't have to become moral police.

Re: Pakistani international students

That’s disgusting.. :yukh:

Re: Pakistani international students

And insult to injury, most of them are run by ABCD's...lol

Re: Pakistani international students

lussi: obviously everyone is accountable for their own actions but that doesn’t mean that if you see a wrong you shouldn’t condemn/criticize it.

Re: Pakistani international students

well sadly thats how our pakistani friends think so well u cant change much :k:

Re: Pakistani international students

Or that you can condemn anyone for no reason at all.

Re: Pakistani international students

Larki, It's ok if they dont want to hang out with you. They are from Pakistan and would rather hang out with other nationalities than their own. I have a feeling you expected them to ask you out and they dissed you so now you are all upset.

Re: Pakistani international students

Fornicate, that's sophisticated name callin'

Anyway, I wouldn't have a problem with these guys if they marry some of their own kind, rather than bring a nice pious girl from Pakistan, who when realizes their deeds (if the poor soul ever does) goes crazy & the couple becomes a problem for the Paki community around.

Re: Pakistani international students

You can accomplish that by criticizing THEM, not talking about it on a discussion board. And how do you know they fornicate? Has anyone told you or what?

Re: Pakistani international students

And I know not all Pakistani International students are like that, for example, my good friend Shikra - despite livin in N.O he has never gone downtown on Shrove Tuesday.

Re: Pakistani international students

Totally.

However, no matter what colour, creed or religion this sort of thing goes on everywhere. For many if you aint doin it you are abnormal.
All religions condemn it (I think), just depends on how religious u are and whether it fits into your lifestyle.

I also believe it is wrong to judge a person just because they do stuff which is wrong by your own standards. At the end of the day we are responsible for our OWN actions, not anyone elses.

Re: Pakistani international students

Ahmadjee is right. Tuesday’s coming up but I am staying home all day

Re: Pakistani international students

What level of maturity, she is in a college or a University and she comes across as

"I am a tell mah Mummy". Grow up, drink, fornicate and be happy. PM Lussi. He'll show you a thing or two. What you say mah Brotha.

Re: Pakistani international students

Everyone has shortcomings but that doesnt mean you can go ahead and start criticzing them. And that too on a public board rather than just keeping it yourself. Now I’m sure you also have some weaknesses too, how would you feel if ppl start nitpicking them and start judging you?
