Hey,
I was reading some of the stuff and it sounds interesting. I'm from a community called Bhagnaris. Apparently, Bhagnaris are originally from balochistan. There were two villages near the kalat region of balochistan bordering sindh called bhag and nar. People from those villages merged and are called bhagnaris. Bhagnaris later left balochistan due to some kind of persecution and settled in various parts of pakistan particularly karachi. There is a bhagnari temple and a bhagnari street in karachi. After partition, most of the bhagnaris (balochi hindus) settled in mumbai. Since I'm originally from balochistan, I guess I'm an ethnic balochi hindu. My mother tongue is multani though (which is interesting).
Very interesting backround there - I guess I had stereotyped and assumed that all Pakistani Hindus were either Sindhi or Punjabi. Now I have been enlightened!
The Kapoor family are Hindu Punjabi's. Most Hindu's living in Peshawer spoke Hindiko & Pastho. Kabul was hardly considered a different country, & most people worked there.
The Mehra, Kapoor & Seth (not same as Sethi) families generally married between these baradari's.
When Pritviraj first joined the film industry - his whole family looked down at this and he was shunned. It was then known as a place where Kanjarias & kanjars worked.
Kalat still has a small but influential Hindu population, they control the wholesale trade of the area. There are also a few temples, one of which is said to be the 5th largest in the entire sub-continent. The majority of the Hindus that are living in Afghanistan and Balochistan are Seraiki and are originally from Southern Punjab and Northern Sindh. The rest are Sindhis. These Hindus have been living in this region for a few centuries and have managed to retain their native tongues and ethnicities. The Hindus of the frontier are actually Hindko. None of these hindus are ethnic Pashtuns or Balochis, however, since they have been settled in this region for such a lengthy period of time, they are considered no different than the natives.
And by the way, Kalat is not Balochi, it is actually Brahui.

Pakistani Hindus comprise of Gujratis, Bhils, Seraikis, Marwaris, Kuchchis, Punjabis, Sindhis and Hindkos. Correct me if I am missing some.
i meet one afghan hindu here in minneapolis,
ISKCON conducts some events here he attended the event and he was sitting next to my parents and he asked my parents where are we from and we said we are from hyderabad and he told he is from jalalabad in afghan
we surprised and he look more like a indian
Pakistani Hindus have chosen to stay in Pakistan despite narrow minded morons like you, and thus that qualifies them to be in better place to serve Pakistan then even you. Ahmadis were among the first to support Quaid in the creation of Pakistan and many are patriotic pakistanis despite the discrimination against them.. So before you open your mouth and exhibit your genius, try to think a little.
Lahori_Bhai, Pakistani Hindus are nationalists, they are more for pakistan than most Muslim Pakistanis. Pakistan is their motherland and they are very loyal to it regardless of it being an Islamic state.
The comments made by lahori seem to be generally accepted by the so called moderators of this forum who would have raised a hue and cry if the same thing had been said by an Indian regarding the Indian muslims.
Lahori you expect wonderful treatment for your muslim brethern in India while you are not willing to do that for your hindu brothers in Pakistan. What an irony.
Real food for thougth !!!
But most of them have been I suppose. A country with a minority population of around 7% after partition has only 2% minorities now. Wonder what happened to them !!!
The percentage is relative to the overall population… Just pooping out percentages means nothing.
Many of them went with Bangladesh, some possibly migrated to India… Majority may just have found their numbers as a percentage of the over all country due to the much higher growth in the number of Musims.
By your numbers, when Pakistan was created, we had a Hindu population of about 2,100,000 which is 7 percent (according to you), of the estimated population of 30,000,000.
Now, it is 2 percent of 160,000,000 which is 3,200,000… In numbers they have grown but in terms of percentage of the population they have decreased. Now factor in the fact that Bangladesh was created and the birth rate in Pakistan is higher then most in the region, I dont know what the birth rate among Pakistani Hindus is, but I dont think its as high as the Muslims, you can understand why the Hindus have decreased in number… Also, im not even sure if we should count the 2 million or so Afghan nationals residing in the country… I dont think the Pak govt counts them though.
So unless you can come up with some real facts and real numbers, you shouldnt talk..
Remeber, we havent had the mass orgies of violence that you have had… Our people have never killed the way the Indians have.
