Re: Pakistani Harvard student refuses to take title from US Ambassador!
That's no way to protest. Come on, your an Harvard student? What are you doing there? If you want to protest, just don't attend.
Re: Pakistani Harvard student refuses to take title from US Ambassador!
^^ then the media can have an excuse that he is sick.. this was a nice action to let them know we still can go without you americans.

as much as I hate the Americans for their ruthlessness.. but correct me if im wrong, harvard is in america no? so we pakistanis will stay the same, when it comes for our own good we take everything, but once we have taken it all, then we throw it out like a used *****. shame on us. protest has it's place but so does respect! :)
Re: Pakistani Harvard student refuses to take title from US Ambassador!
^^ Phir bhi dil hai Pakistani :)
Re: Pakistani Harvard student refuses to take title from US Ambassador!
Roots School and Harvard … Its hard to find a connection ![]()
I agree with his protest but usually people who do that, they do it before hand and not on stage. He could have called a press conference and could have told them the reason. Might be more effective.
Re: Pakistani Harvard student refuses to take title from US Ambassador!
^^ it has to be done later on.. but you know all the media is "controlled" so he might not get any single reporter for that.
Re: Pakistani Harvard student refuses to take title from US Ambassador!
^^ Controlled :D ... the media in Pakistan is wayyyyyyyyyy out of control than any other country :D

Then why uncle bush use to praise GEO a lot? even in his official speeches..?
Re: Pakistani Harvard student refuses to take title from US Ambassador!
That is no way to protest. that is wrong on more than just one level.
Re: Pakistani Harvard student refuses to take title from US Ambassador!
That was the wrong place and wrong forum for showing such reaction.
He should have been thankful for the opportunity he was getting. Did his protest change anything? No!
His disrespect was against our Islamic and cultural norms.
Re: Pakistani Harvard student refuses to take title from US Ambassador!
^^ lol you people...
against our Islamic and cultural norms.. you mean that American lady standing and giving that award is that Islamic? should we be proud of it that we are getting an award of some good deeds but wait the same award will be of no use when any of their bombs hit us / me ?
What a hypocrite. He came to the US out of choice, the US gave him admission to the best university in the world and he spits in the US's face. Let me guess: he will continue to live in the US and not move back to Pakistan?

If you want to complain about Harvard not being Islamic, what do you expect? Harvard is a secular institution whose faculty and student body is predominantly Christian. This guy was of course aware of this when he enrolled. Why did he enroll there? If he got into Harvard he could have got into any university in Pakistan or any other Muslim country.
People like him give those of us of Pakistani descent in the US a bad name. Most Pakistanis in the US are here by choice. Even if it is your parents who immigrated here no one is stopping you from leaving the US and going to Pakistan or any other Muslim country. Yet what many Pakistanis in the US do is take advantage of the opportunities the US provides to its minorities (opportunities Muslim "brother" countries don't provide Pakistanis, i.e. Saudi Arabia where you cannot even become a citizen) while bashing its culture and government.
