Wrong. The US opts to give opportunities to all Americans and many foreign students. The US could easily do what Pakistani’s favorite foreign country, Saudi Arabia, does and ban immigrants from citizenship and consign them to menial jobs. It doesn’t.
The 4 year excuse doesn’t fly. 4 years ago was 2005. 9/11 was in 2001 and the US went into Afghanistan that year (after the Taliban were given a month to renounce terrorism, evict Al-Qaeda and turn over Bin Laden to prevent a war).
If he is so concerned about Pakistan he should have stayed there. He is obviously brilliant and could do a lot to help the country he professes to love so much yet he fled the country at the first opportunity. What a hypocrite.
That video is ridiculous. I live in the US and am of Pakistani descent. There is no country on Earth, except perhaps Canada (and the difference, if any, would be small), which gives desis and Pakistanis more opportunities than the US. Compare the situation of Pakistanis and desis in these countries to that of the two other nations Pakistanis immigrate to in large numbers, the UK and Saudi Arabia. In Saudi Arabia Pakistanis have 0 rights and can never be citizens (yet Pakistanis lovingly call them their “brothers”). In the UK there is widespread discrimination. In contrast, the USA’s next president may very well be the son of Indian immigrants! The US is one of only two countries in world history to ever elect an ethnic minority to its highest office (the other is Peru). Pakistanis are too small a group (0.1% of the US population) for there to be reliable data on. However, we have data for Indians (almost 1%) and Muslims in general. Indian-Americans are the most affluent ethnic group in the US (and include 1 governor and the CEO’s of major corporations such as PepsiCo and Citigroup) and Muslims are, as a whole, substantially more affluent than the average American (and the numbers are higher for Asian Muslims because there are many poor African-Americans Muslims). In the US Pakistani-Americans can be CEO’s of major corporations (Schering-Plough, AST Research) or be named the top doctor in the country. Yet in Saudi Arabia these same people would be cleaning toilets! But yeah, Americans are a bunch of racists.
The US record on minorities speaks for itself. Just ask all the Pakistanis–and people from all over the world–who are dreaming of immigrating to the US.
I alluded to it. The chief reason is there are many Muslims here like this Harvard student who come to the US, take advantage of the opportunities it provides, put on a nice face at work or school when the so-called “kafirs” are present and then curse the US and cheer for its sworn enemies when at home or the mosque. Again, if you hate America why immigrate there? There are almost 200 countries in the world. Find another one to immigrate to–if you insist on leaving the country you claim to love. It is a shame that these hypocrites give the many patriotic Americans of “Muslim descent” a bad name.
Why are you so concerned about the treatment of Muslims in a foreign country by the way when your own country has a horrible record on the treatment of its minorities? There are no laws in the US, for instance, sentencing Mormons (the Christian version of Ahmadiyas) to 3 years in prison for merely greeting someone. Actually, a Mormon almost won the Republican nomination for president in 2008 and is considered that party’s front-runner for 2012 (Romney).
Speaking of Ahmadiyas, Pakistan, and education, I have a Ahmadiya friend whose father finished 2nd at his college when he was in Pakistan. That entitled him to a scholarship to study in Cambridge. Guess what happened when college officials found out about his religion?
