hmmm...Moon bhai thanks for the feedback...after how long does the AC not work properly?
It works properly but since its a small car, n 800cc engine isnt sufficient enough to properly cool if u want real cooing. For new car nominal cooling is good for 2-3 years .
and what abt insurance? doesnt it cover such things? it could be a prob with that particular ac as well...
khayr that issue is not that major for me...
Yep compr. ins. covers these things

thanks for the reply

sigh

im back at square one :stuck_out_tongue:

the bank dude tells me now [woh bhee upon asking when papa told me to check after checking prices with car dealers] that if i want the car before 2.5 / 3 months then i hafta pay approx 30,000 more apart from the amount to the bank

i dont think im going for leasing anymore. dont wana be spending above 4 lakhs on a brand new gaddi if i can get it second hand for less than 3…

hmmm

my friend got a zero meter santro, leased from UBL this week…apparently now UBL is offerring better deals than Al-Falah

khayr, the reason i was going for brand new car was coz 2/3 yrs tak koi maslay nai hotay…

lekin i think an extra 1.5 lakhs is too high a price to pay for that

so im gona for second hand…and gona keep my options open for mehran/alto/cutlus/santro etc etc and even other chori gaddiz

ab dubara nayay siray se search shuru karni ho gi syapa :smack:

^ The bank dude told u rite. Even 3 months is quite early, normally you get car in 4 to 6 months from leasing on controled rate.

Now back to comparison. We have two cars, 1 mehran, 1 cultus. Both we got brand new( mehran on lease) cultus is given by company to brother.

Now Mehran is not a bad as first car for you. Cultus is obviously better, comfort and other features are better. Leasing is best as interest rates are low and insurance is included.

Mind you ! every 1 in 6 cars is stolen in pakistan

Mehran is fav car for thieves !!

so insurance is vital.

Few points if you are going for Mehran(which i think eventually the most appropirate choice )

**1. Buy one Tala (china ka bara wala tala) to lock your stearing. It is proven best line of deffence for Mehran owners. Ask your cousin he will demonstrate for you. That lock is most difficult to break. and option is only available in Mehran.

 1. Go for factory fitted CNG (if you want CNG). Factory fitted is best and safest.

 2. AC work well in evening and nite. Not very good in dhoop.**

I say go for it. 3 months is not too long. Till then try to scare more ppl on your way ;)

good luck irem. The premoum bit on new cars is not a fleecing tactic. its real! :~)

Some info on UBL Drive! (car financing can be found here):

UBL Drive!

I like the tala wala option :stuck_out_tongue:

^^

thanks guys :)

who told you CNG is safe in hatchback cars, and have you ever seen the pressure tubing running in close proximity of the exhaust pipe. of a mehran (yes the so called factory CNG) use your head, some explosive gas contained at a pressure of 200 bar is not good news if the line ruptures or the car gets rear ended,

Any sane person wont go happily for CNG. But ever increasing prices of petrolium makes one think twice. As you may have noticed i stated " if you want CNG". :p

I will never ever consider CNG if I can afford price of patrol. Or my company pays for it. But that is not the case for many and ppl have limited resources. As all of us know, there is only one benefit of CNG, and that is economy. One can actually save about 2 months installments in a year, using CNG.
