Why are Pakistani films so horrible? The older ones used to be pretty decent, but what happened in the past 20 years or so??? The acting is extremely amateur, so is the production and plot. Pakistani dramas on the other hand are great, in terms of storylines and even acting to a point. If there are producers who can make decent dramas, why aren’t there producers to make decent films?
I totally hear you. However, if you keep up with the happenings in the film industry, you'll find that for the past ~10 years, there has been a slow anti-kharaab Paki movie movement taking form. There are a LOT of people interested in making a movie, and there are a LOT of financers interested in putting their money forth. But the problem for a while has been to get the ball rolling.
I think YDAKH, even though it might not be oscar-worthy, is going to get that ball rolling. Javed Sheikh made like 5 crore in the first month alone, if I remember my numbers right. This has gotten people's mouths hanging open, and now a lot of people are gathering the guts to come forth and make a movie.
There is a growing interest to begin an industry in Karachi...Samina Peerzada's next film, reportedly, will be oriented in Karachi, so maybe the change of environment may have some positive effects.
Give the industry about 10 years. The tide is turning.
I think PG is right.. they'll start improving until then stick to the oldies..
Yeppers!
Old Pakistani movies are alot better than they make today. Just watch movies of Wahid Murad[Late], Shahid, Muhammad Ali and Nadeem, I bet you definitely gonna love it.
Today, I prefer to watch movies directed by Javed Sheikh. His directions are amazing, I must say!
Mushkil & Yeh Dil Aap Ka Huwa ![]()
Pakistani movies, unfortunately, are nothing to be proud of. The plot, direction, dance sequences, so-called actors/actresses, and cinematography are always so poor. The song dances are particularly funny in most cases. I'm all for nationalism and patriotism, but Pakistan needs to move up in this regard, amely, the film industry. Pakistani dramas are most definitely awesome!
We have PTV Prime at home on the dish and the dramas are all my mom watches all day! :)
decent public does not want to go watch a movie in a theatre full of pathan bhaayes...pathan bhayees dont care bout the plot or the acting..they just wanna see reema meera in action lol
Sheraz CT! For someone preaching about religion and morals all the time, dont you think that was a racially offensive statement you just made there?
Please watch what u say.
Sheraz, please don’t disrespect women. I think it’s great that Meera, Nirma, Reema, Zara Sheikh and the like are doing well in the Pakistani film industry, no matter how we perceive this medium to be, in Pakistan. Let’s show some support and be proud of them instead of demeaning them in terms such as those you have in your dirty little mind. :k:

You did exactly what sheraz did above. There's not much of a difference, now is there?
And sheraz, it's not only the pathan bhais, it's too a good extent all males of pakistan. :)
hey i didnt mean to single out the pathan bhais .. sehar u are right..all pakistani males are like that
note: admiring such assets does not go along with the forum rules.
sehar why did u delete my threads? thats not very nice
we should all admire the assets of pakistan
Sheraz, which stand r u taking exactly??? You seem very confused for some odd reason!
With regards to the vulgarity, I have a point to make. I honestly doubt that the actresses are satisfied with their substandard careers. Most of them are constantly complaining about the lack of good roles for women, and for the treatment of actresses as sex objects.
Reema has stopped acting in many movies for this reason. Neeli, whose picture you've got posted up there, has left the industry for good, claiming the "abuse" by producers and directors to do disgusting and tasteless dances, etc and the overall lack of proffessionalism as the main causes.
These actresses want to have good roles and they want to come in good productions. You can't blame them alone. Directors and producers are the main ones to be blamed. They're responsible for making quality productions, not the actresses.
moona maybe u are just too slow
its allright..u will get it..one of these days ![]()
Sheraz: Admiring 'such' assets doesn't not go along with the forum rules. You are quite a senior member, you should know :)

well i blame them all..i'd like them to make decent family movies..but are they even trying..i used to watch movies with nadeem and shabnam..i mean those movies were good..even if u watch them now
