pichle 5 saal main to rona dhona hi hota aaya hai Paksitani dramon main and that too purposeless saas-bahoo, sisters loving same person type idiotic themes. I'm not following ANY drama since last year and quite happy about it.
Last I followed 'Ulloo Barae Farokht Nahin' in 2013. It is epic. Good dialogues, serious theme (rona dhona but on real issues), perfect cast and superb direction.
If you haven't watched 'Aun-Zara', then try that. Its good timepass. BTW, 'Shanakht' had a good story. Didn't follow it completely, but it was worth watching.

Don't know about rona dhona as they all have that unfortunately but the ones i've recently liked the most are Alvida, Sadqay Tumhare (which is v confusing and boring towards the end even though the first few episodes are awesome), Chup Raho and Bashar Momin.

Mujh se directly pooch leti, ek yehi pakistani drama to baray shoq se dekhti hon. So here are my suggestions and they are good
Ullu Barae Farokht Nahi (omg omg omg.....realistic), Aunn Zara (comedy), Coke Kahani (comedy)
Sannata and Dil Muhallay ki Haveli (very different and dealt with psychological issues, altho UBFN also showed psyc issues as well) Mera Naam Yousuf Hai (romantic + the best end ever, i had a smile while watching the last epi) Bari Apa (a bit diff)
Durr e Shahwar (umm lp altho its a bit sad but this one i recommend every girl to watch, the father daughter bonding was so nicely done and oh so sensible), Kankar (in your face douche bag!!! kinda drama)
Pyare Afzal (im sure you would have heard about it, can't recommend, i cried for days after the last epi, but nice)
Zindagi Gulzar Hai (recommended for pessimestic ppl and one time watch)
Manjali (i liked it...no idea why... but i liked it)
Shanakht, Rihaaye, Shehr e Zaat (havent watched these but heard they were good, no idea if they had rona dhona in them or not)

I don’t like rona dhona waley at all. Zindagi mai kam rona dhona hai jo entertainment mai bhi roye insan

Seriously LP it’s a must watch though. Please don’t torture yourself with Mera naam yusuf hai :nono:
Durr e Shawar is another good one which someone also recommended above.
I don’t think Pakistani people are good at making hasi mazakh wale dramay but maybe that’s just me ..
Aunn Zara! Best happy family drama. It's not over-the-top, but cute and relateable.

I highly recommend watching Diyar e Dil and Sangat. DeD is a masterpiece. I 've watched first episode of Sangat and found it very gripping.

ahhmazinggg drama! I cried for days after watching episode 9 or 10 and this is coming from someone who doesn’t cry easily at tv programmes/movies.

Dastaan is a modern day classic. Acting, direction, script, set design, background music, everything is top of the line.

Sabar Qamar and Sanam Baloch have worked in some of the best plays. Only these two can be called actresses. Rest are just high school drop outs.

sadqay tumhare...there will be rono dhona but still a great watch. very good acting, great story line and best ending.

Yes same here :( The acting and everything is so brilliantly done. Hum Europe is airing it again at the moment every saturday and sunday.
